Identifying niche in warehouse operations To be able to identify your niche in the warehousing space you need to be true to yourself in terms of what interest you in the space as it is a vary wide space in terms of the different roles and skills needed. It will be fruitless if you tend to chose a niche that does not interest you of which ultimately after sometimes you will get bored and want to move out. Therefore it is important to consider carefully what interest you and go for

🌬️ Just had an exhilarating experience conducting my first Physical Verification of Stocks at a cold warehouse where the temperature dipped to a bone-chilling -20 degrees Celsius! ❄️ Interacting with the warehouse manager and supervisor was insightful, and navigating through the different chambers of the warehouse was Challenging as well. 💼 Managing inventory in such extreme conditions was undeniably challenging, especially with the strict limit of fifteen minutes in the cold warehouse at a time. However, it was a test of resilience and adaptability that I'm proud to have tackled head-on. 💰 With over 6 crores worth of inventory spanning a wide range of materials, this task was really hard to take over. But with effective communication and collaboration with the team, we successfully completed the verification process. 📝 Key takeaway: Facing challenges head-on strengthens not only our skills but also our character. Turning warehouse associates over faster than Taylor Swift turns over boyfriends? Sorry Travis. I feel your pain. During my final years at FedEx, we were experiencing turnover of over 100%!! Yes, that is an insane number… Desperate times called for desperate measures, right? Nope. Turns out we had strayed too far from our engagement strategy. Why you may ask? Well, when you place too much responsibility on your operations managers, they tend to get overwhelmed and spend less time on the floor. A once effective strategy no longer produces the desired results. Less time on the floor  = less engaged workforce Lower engagement = higher turnover We empowered our ops managers to craft an engagement strategy they were confident they could execute against and were comfortable being held accountable for, creating a sense of ownership. Within a few short months, turnover was the lowest it had ever been in the district! Ownership = results It really can be as simple as that. 📦 Transforming Warehouse Inventory counting: Success case Managing warehouse inventory can be and is a daunting task, and as far I am concerned, everybody openly or secretly hates it... but here's what works for my team and how we're tackling it head-on. 1. Break it Down: Divide inventory into manageable tasks, doing it quarterly instead of annually. We are doing it 3x per year. 2. Time Yourself: Get realistic about time needed; it's often less than expected. We used timer to see difference between feeling and reality. 3. Mix it Up: Rotate team members to avoid monotony and build versatility. 4. Reward yourself: Pizza parties are the best for teamwork. 5. Fun Incentives: Post-inventory adrenaline rush with car simulation racing and off-road adventures. By applying these strategies, we've turned inventory from a chore into a team-building opportunity, releasing endorphins and boosting morale with each successful session...
