As the sun sets on summer and we roll into Brake Safety Week (Aug 25-31), remember that safety is always in season. In 2023, we saw 12.6% of commercial vehicles sidelined for brake issues – that's a lot of potential danger on the road. This year, inspectors are zooming in on brake linings and pads. Drivers, here's your pre-trip checklist: ⚠ Brush up on those FMCSA brake regs and get those checklists ready! ⚠ Inspectors will be looking for leaks, worn parts, and ABS issues. ⚠ Walk around, listen for leaks, and check those brake shoes. ⚠ Don't wait! Address any issues before you hit the road. Remember, a safe road trip is a beautiful one. Let's make this Brake Safety Week a success! 🌅 #BrakeSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst #TruckMaintenance #RoadSafety #TruckingLife #BrakeCheck #FMCSA #InspectorsAlert #PreTripChecklist #TruckingCommunity #OTRLife #FreightSafety #DriverSafety #BrakeInspection #SafeRoadTrip #TruckingIndustry #SafetyInSeason #StaySafe #BrakeRegulations #TruckDriverLife

Driver Tip: Always perform a pre-trip inspection before hitting the road. At TTDS, we teach our students the importance of safety and thoroughness in every aspect of truck driving. A pre-trip inspection ensures that your vehicle is in good working condition and helps prevent accidents on the road. This critical step involves checking the brakes, tires, lights, and other essential parts of the truck.
