What is butterscotch cake made of? Cakes have become an integral part of any occasion, birthday parties, anniversaries, and many more events or functions. Butterscotch cakes are one of the most famous cakes among every third person or in all age groups. Butterscotch cakes are made with moist and humid layers of brown sugars, butterscotch syrup, or sauce, and filled with butterscotch buttercream, and garnished with the decorating edible items according to the preference. The primary ingredients used in butterscotch cakes are buttercream and brown sugar. The butterscotch flavor was first invented by Samuel Parkinson. Butterscotch is considered a flavor, much like caramel. Made famous at soda fountains by accompanying banana splits. What kind of flowers to use on cakes? Among my favorite fully edible flowers are bachelor's buttons, borage, campanula, columbine, dahlia petals, orange cosmos, nasturtiums (flowers and leaves), gladiolus, pansies, snapdragons, stock, violets, squash blossoms, Japanese magnolia blooms, and roses. But it’s important to note that not all blooming herbs such as coriander leaves (also called cilantro), thyme flowers, and chives have an aromatic taste that goes well with chocolate buttercream frosting. Roses are among the flowers that can be featured in cake decorations, jam recipes, and cocktails let alone baked foodstuffs; one can also eat its whole plant fresh or by soaking it in water while steeping some petals for use as sachets in flavoring sticky buns as well, put roses into poundcake together with violets in addition to making lilac-flavored vinegar. Cook-along A kitchen marathon last week to fill the freezer for ages to come, all thanks to the indomitable help of Karen and the great ingredients from Dave the Butcher’s of Highlands Road. Together over a few hours we created two full meals of roast turkey, roast potatoes and Brussel sprouts followed by Tarte Tatin plus 12 more two-course lunches (with desserts to spare)and 17 light suppers: Roast turkey (12), Tart Tatin (8), baked fruit salad (14), minestrone soup (14), mushroom soup (3), bread (18), rough puff pastry (12 future pies or tarts). It all takes a bit of preparation beforehand and coordinated team work but batch cooking keeps the fuel bill down while producing a stack of great meals for the next few weeks. Next time we’ll make different main courses such as lamb tajine, Thai fish curry, pork pies and many more so that there’s always a selection ready. The autumn apple cake has also been going down well and anyone can try this amazingly easy recipe to use up their windfalls: https://lnkd.in/eekFmNKB Meanwhile, we hosted local friends for a simple Sunday brunch which is a super way of entertaining without fuss and a “traditional English breakfast” is such a treat. Again, courtesy of Dave’s, sausages, bacon, black pudding, tomatoes, mushrooms and scrambled eggs on toast after an appetiser of fresh melon, all topped off with an apple (more windfalls) and mincemeat crumble. I know, it all sounds wildly self-indulgent but its nearly all fresh food, cooked from scratch without any of that ultra-processed stuff and ensures that we have well over 30 plant-based foods a week. Good nutrition needn’t cost an arm and a leg in ingredients or the energy bill. #cookalong #kitchenmarathon #autumn #baking

Processing at the speed of light https://lnkd.in/gr3wgT_G
There’s something striking about a pie 🥧 or tart topped with a mound of meringue 🤤 . Adding the flavor of burnt sugar the likes of a marshmallow makes a meringue even more amazing. It looks striking and tastes delicious. Toasting the top surface of the meringue also adds just a hint of a contrast in texture to the fluffy meringue below. A short ‘boost’ of electric ⚡ infrared radiation will do the trick in no time. Another example on how infrared radiation can be applied in the bakery industry. #merengue #bakery #SpeedofLight
