What are the chances that AI will replace Cyber security professionals? According to a report by Trend Micro, 41% of IT leaders believe that AI will replace their role by 2030. However, it is important to note that AI cannot replace human cybersecurity professionals entirely. While AI can improve threat detection and response, human professionals will remain essential for critical thinking, creativity, and ethical decision-making. In fact, AI and automation could eliminate the tedious functions of Tier 1 and Tier 2 analysts, leading to more job satisfaction. Therefore, it is likely that AI will be used to augment the work of cybersecurity professionals, rather than replace them. It is also worth noting that the cybersecurity sector has been grappling with a shortage of #professionals for several years. With attacks becoming ever more sophisticated, targeted, and frequent, finding skilled professionals to deploy and manage effective cybersecurity initiatives is proving to be a challenge. #Automation and #AI can help alleviate this skills deficit, but they cannot replace the human factor in #cybersecurity #artificialintelligence #techjobs #technews #network

AI will undoubtedly benefit cyber-security experts by * Improved vulnerability assessment *Automated Generation of Threat Intelligence *Intelligent Attack Emulation But despite its potential, AI still has a number of concerns, including * Model Bias: Biases that exist in society can be reflected in models. * Harmful Content Generation (For instance, disinformation and hate speech) *Deep Fakes Therefore, despite the numerous opinions about AI replacing humans, I believe it will provide a range of benefits that complement human resources, rather than completely replacing them. Furthermore, organizations will need to hire more cyber security specialists in the future in order to strengthen their defenses as AI-powered attacks will grow in number.

AI has changed technology and the job landscape significantly. It is a game changer and, for the most part, beneficial overall. So far, we have seen the good and the bad; however, we are starting to see the ugly, too. AI can enhance vishing attacks in several ways, making them more convincing and sophisticated. It is scary how, combining voice cloning, natural language processing, and speech recognition, an attacker can mimic a specific individual's voice or impersonate a trusted figure, such as a company’s IT help desk staff, an executive or a government official. What is the success rate? It is not known yet, but using MGM’s cyber attack, we can at least get an idea of how harmful disruptive causing an estimated financial impact of about $100 million. More than ever user awareness training is a fundamental component of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. It empowers users to make informed decisions, reduces the risk of sophisticated phishing attacks, and strengthens an organization’s overall cyber resilience.

AI and Cybersecurity: Friends, Not Foes 🛡️🤖 With the constant barrage of hacks, ransomware, and insider threats, the importance of cybersecurity professionals remains undiminished. But how is AI transforming this space? Despite fears of job losses, we’re seeing the opposite trend. Cybersecurity jobs are projected to grow 32% from 2022 to 2032 (Bureau of Labor Statistics). And with close to 470,000 openings but only 85% filled (CyberSeek), it's clear there's room for everyone. A recent ISC2 survey underscores this shift. A whopping 88% of cybersecurity pros believe AI will significantly impact their roles soon, and 35% say it’s already happening. The kicker? They see AI as an ally, with 82% acknowledging that AI boosts job efficiency, even as 56% think it might render some tasks obsolete. Here are a few tasks AI is set to handle: - Analyzing user behavior patterns - Automating repetitive tasks - Monitoring network traffic for malware - Predicting weak points and blocking threats But don't worry about AI taking over completely. As Hughes puts it, "Cybersecurity will always need human oversight." Our ability to train AI, contextualize outputs, and secure systems from AI-targeted attacks is irreplaceable.
