In a generation with a 5-second attention span, how can you learn patience from Lord Ram?
Here are a few instances from his life that teach us the importance of patience.
1. Awaiting the Change of Seasons: When the monsoon season arrived, it was impossible for Ram and his army to launch an attack on Lanka. He waited patiently for the rains to end, using this time to plan the assault and ensure the wellbeing of his troops.
2. Friendship with Vibhishana: When Vibhishana, Ravana's brother, sought refuge with Ram, there was suspicion about his motives. Ram showed patience and discernment in understanding Vibhishana's true intentions, which eventually turned the tide in the battle against Ravana.
3. Sita’s Second Exile: When questions arose about Sita's purity once again in Ayodhya, Ram made the heart-wrenching decision to send Sita away for a second exile. This was a supreme test of patience, as it involved putting dharma (duty) above personal emotion.
4. After the War: Following the victory over Ravana, Ram patiently waited and completed the necessary rituals and healing processes for his army and allies before returning to Ayodhya, despite the eagerness to return to his kingdom.
And finally, a wait of 500 years. And you're worried about learning a skill that demands just 5 weeks from you.
