The strategic outlook for energy markets, system vulnerabilities, and industry competition took centre stage at the 6th edition of the Vienna Energy Security Dialogue. 🔋🏭🌱 It gathered over 120 policymakers, scientists, academics, and industry representatives to discuss the implications of bureaucratic hurdles for implementing clean energy projects, the risk of supply chains concentration, the need for increased European investments in green industries, the importance of promoting inclusive energy transition strategies, and addressing energy poverty in both developing and industrialized countries. Titled “Looking Ahead: Shaping the Post-Crises Global Energy Market(s)”, the annual event took place on 25 October in partnership with the World Energy Council Austria, the Federation of Austrian Industries and EY Austria. BuildingEnergy Boston is an interdisciplinary conference that brings together leaders and emerging professionals committed to developing a more sustainable, healthy, and resilient built environment. Attendees represent dozens of industries, including architecture, engineering, building, design, consulting, policy, finance, auditing, installation, construction, and education. The conference will feature a trade show, networking events, and presentations that showcase case studies with proven data, best practices and lessons learned, technical how-tos, emerging technologies, and innovative policies and programs. This year's conference theme is Climate Resilience. As the planet warms, the Northeast is already experiencing severe weather events, including prolonged heat waves and cold snaps, strong winds, heavy rains, and coastal flooding. Achieving climate resilience in our built environment will require us to implement a wide array of passive and active solutions to mitigate the effects of these changes. At the same time, we must continue to address the root causes by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions. It is also critical to ensure that vulnerable and under-resourced communities do not bear the brunt of these challenges.
