Reading this latest article by Kian-Ming Ong. Fully agree with his suggestions to study the success and shortcomings of past and ongoing government-sponsored Bumiputera programmes. Perhaps one idea is to incorporate the Bumiputra agenda into the strategies of Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) or State-Linked Entities, particularly when it comes to renting or purchasing land, could potentially bring several benefits, especially in the context of Malay Reserve Land. By prioritizing these lands, GLCs and State Entities can contribute to the development and enhancement of Bumiputra communities. Engaging with Malay Reserve Land not only aligns with broader national socio-economic goals by uplifting and integrating these lands into the mainstream economy but also potentially increases the land's value through development and demand. This approach could create a positive cycle of growth, where increased land value further encourages investment and development, benefiting both the Bumiputra communities and the entities involved. However, it is crucial that the strategy is implemented with careful planning and consideration of the long-term impact on the Bumiputera community and the wider economy to ensure sustainable and equitable development.
