The only way to truly experience a #WILNZ conference is to attend, but we’ll be attempting to offer you little snippets over the next couple of days - 🪟 Windows into Work-Integrated Learning 🪟 Window 2🪟: The session started with Nicky Murray (Muka Tangata Workforce Development Council) and Kathryn Koopmanschap (Food and Fibre Centre of Vocational Excellence) with their work around developing a skills framework for the food and fibre sector. While a key economic production area for New Zealand, there was a desire for change in this vocational education area and to develop a skills-first approach focused on work-integrated learning students developing the right skills and competencies for a role. The inclusion of Te Ao Māori was heartening to see. We look forward to hearing more about further developments of this framework. The second speaker in this session was one of our special international delegates who make #WILNZConference2024 a truly international conference. Pann Yu Mon from Kaishi Professional University (Niigata Prefecture, Japan) presented on behalf of her colleagues and demonstrated interesting data comparing the difference between student self-assessment and supervisor assessment on long-term internship programmes. It was fascinating to hear the differences and challenges unique to the academic landscape in Japan while also realising that students the world around can also demonstrate similar behaviours! #workintegratedlearning #cooperativeeducation #skillsfirstapproach #vocationaleducation #studentassessment

𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 Four months ago, I began sharing my first post about my forensic studies in Universiti Sains Malaysia on a Chinese platform, Xiaohongshu, where everyone shares knowledge and skills. At first, I was worried—what if nobody liked my posts? What if someone left negative comments or sent me a message? But now, I’m thrilled to share that my followers have grown from zero to 2,000+ in just four months! 🎉 I update once or twice a week, and it’s amazing to see how people respond. Of course, there are always a few setbacks, but overall, everything is great. I truly enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, and it’s incredibly rewarding when someone tells me they’ve learned something or been inspired by my posts. Knowing that I’m making a difference, even in a small way, makes it all worthwhile. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I’ll continue to share and hope to inspire even more people along the way. #forensicscience #xiaohongshu #usm #sharing #freshgraduates #internship #careerdevelopement
