🎗️ World IBD Day | In this particular day, we are proud to share with you results from a survey about Preferences towards treatment attributes among patients with Crohn’s disease and UC, conducted by Takeda.   The Poster was presented at the 19th Congress of the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation on 21–24 February 2024 in Stockholm.   📊 This study highlights the importance of treatment effectiveness, RoA and safety in patients with IBD. Personalised care is crucial given that preferences for treatment attributes may vary across countries and among patients. Discussions around shared decision-making regarding therapy choice and timing between patients and physicians are vital.   We are proud to be able to contribute to the realization of complex DCE-type* studies all over the world (Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Argentina, Australia...).   *What is a DCE, you ask? It's a powerful tool used to understand preferences and trade-offs by presenting individuals with alternative scenarios and asking them to choose their preferred option. Clinical trials test potential treatments in human volunteers to see whether they should be approved for wider use in the general population, but many clinical trials for medications and devices exclude people with larger bodies. Excluding people with obesity and severe obesity is an example of explicit weight bias that can cause real harm. Obesity Action Coalition and other obesity advocates recently met with the Food and Drug Administration’s Commissioner Robert Califf to voice this concern.
