Everyone plays a vital role. There's a lighting crew, drivers, directors, riggers, and so much more. And the concrete workers are the actors who have to perform at their peak abilities to make sure the project goes off without a hitch. Let me explain the difference between a Stunt Rigger and Key Stunt Rigger to you in a simple way. Imagine you're building a giant castle for a movie scene 🤔 🧗Stunt Rigger (Builder) They're the ones who follow the instructions and put together the basic parts of the castle walls and towers. They're strong and know how to use all the bricks. Stunt riggers work together to set up the wires, harnesses, and other equipment following the plan from the Key Stunt Rigger. 🧗Key Stunt Rigger (Master Builder) They're the mastermind behind the whole castle. They decide where the towers go, how high the walls are, and maybe even design some cool secret passages. They also double-check everything the other builders do to make sure it's super strong and won't fall apart during filming. They're smart enough to figure out the best way to rig each stunt and strong enough to help set things up. What do job applications and Van Halen’s contract with venues have in common? Van Halen used to include a clause in their contract with venues stating that they wanted M and M candies in the backstage area, but there must absolutely be NO brown ones. The venue could forfeit the gig and any compensation if this instruction was not followed. This wasn’t a diva request from the band. This was a quick safety test to see if the contract had been read and followed to the exact detail. They had a lot of stage rigging, props and set up, so if something wasn’t set up correctly it could be a huge health and safety hazard. Job applications can also include strict instructions that can be used to see if candidates are capable of reading and following instructions. It is a simple way to quickly sort applications into whether instructions were followed or not. (This was mentioned in a fantastic webinar about using LinkedIn for your career this evening, which I will link in the comments). Answer: they both contain strange instructions that are there as a test. Please read and follow the instructions in the job application (except for if they ask you to send money - that is a scam!).
