Burgers, fries, and soda, the American version of German meat and potatoes with a drink, from the icon of American cultural globalization, the golden arch of Ray Kroc’s McDonald’s, gave the comeback kid from Hope, Arkansas, Bill Clinton, a triple bypass.
Taste and health cannot be more perfectly uncorrelated, -1, or are they perfectly correlated, 1, because what Clinton and Bill Gates consider taste is reality the lack of it?
This lack of taste is giving the planet a nona-bypass along all the nine planetary boundaries, as the Amazon burns to let the cows graze to feed the world’s growing appetite for their flesh along with economic growth and aspiration of the one human family to converge.
Gates wrote a book on climate. Invested in how to mitigate cows passing methane. But his addiction to money and cows remains, undermining both his book and investments.
The way to save humanity is not to make rounds of both Norway and Sub Saharan Africa, far far above and far far below the equator, the Great White North and the Great Black South, but walking the talk on global sustainability.
Does this sound good or do you want me to give you consent to talk about my vision to showboat and make a quick buck?

Growing up, my family spent a lot of time—and made a lot of great memories—at Burgermaster. My dad actually did a lot of early Gates Foundation work sitting in one of the corner booths at the Laurelhurst location—to the point that people even sent him mail there. Happy National Burger Day to all who celebrate.

Owner-Operator Stanley Webster epitomizes the transformative power of mentorship and resilience. Hailing from Madison, Alabama, Stanley’s early years were filled with obstacles. Despite facing personal setbacks ranging from financial instability to natural disasters, his determination never wavered.
Chick-fil-A Madison Owner-Operator Norman Dull took Stanley under his wing inside and outside of the restaurant. Norman's belief in Stanley fueled his rise from a dedicated Team Member in Alabama to restaurant leader in Los Angeles. Now, as an Owner-Operator himself, Stanley is paying it forward by cultivating opportunities for Team Members in his restaurant to thrive. From partnering with local organizations to supporting youth programs, Stanley's impact extends far beyond the restaurant walls. https://lnkd.in/gR73iKJ2
🌟Celebrating Black History Month🌟
This Black History Month, we want to shift the focus to some of the incredible leaders who are making waves in the business world today. One such inspiring figure is Rosalind Brewer, the former CEO of Walgreens.
Born and raised in Detroit, Rosalind Brewer has left an indelible mark on the business landscape. She demonstrated extraordinary leadership, especially during challenging times like the global pandemic. Brewer played a pivotal role in steering Walgreens through the complexities of COVID-19, overseeing the company's revenue growth and spearheading the crucial vaccine rollout.
🌏Breaking Barriers in Corporate Leadership
Rosalind Brewer's achievements go beyond her role at Walgreens. She made history as the only Black woman to lead a Fortune 500 firm during her tenure and became just the third Black woman in history to serve as a Fortune 500 CEO. Her trailblazing journey and commitment to excellence have paved the way for greater diversity and inclusion in the corporate world.
☕From Starbucks to Walgreens: A Trailblazer's Journey
Before her impactful role at Walgreens, Brewer made history as Starbucks' first Black and first woman Chief Operating Officer (COO). Her strategic vision and dedication to fostering positive change have left an enduring legacy in multiple industries.
🙌 Honoring Rosalind Brewer's Legacy
This Black History Month, we celebrate leaders like Rosalind Brewer, whose resilience, innovation, and commitment to excellence continue to inspire us. As we reflect on the past, let's also recognize and uplift the contemporary trailblazers who are shaping the future.
🌈 Inspiration for Us All
Rosalind Brewer's story is a testament to the power of perseverance and the impact one person can have on an entire industry. Let's continue to amplify these stories, celebrate diversity, and work together to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled.

The John Lewis Partnership has been through a torrid time. And no one has felt this more than Partners.
From my conversations with people I know across all levels of both Waitrose and John Lewis, there has been a sense of frustration that then business has not been focusing on the right things and that it has been drifting away from retail.
Dame Sharon White has started to correct this of late, but the blunt truth is that many in the business never thought she was the right person for the job because of her lack of retail experience.
The role of Chairman has changed at the Partnership. It used to be somewhat ceremonial - like a head of state - there to represent the interests of the partners and to promote the business. Under that old arrangement the day-to-day businesses were run by managing directors who were highly experienced in retail. Dame Sharon would likely have been good in this old-style Chairman role.
But today the structure is different. The Chairman role is more hands on and more operational. That needs someone with deep retail expertise, which is why Jason Tarry's appointment as the next Chairman is highly sensible.
There's a lot more work to do, but as I told the Daily Mail - it will give confidence to partners, who have been increasingly nervous and frustrated that the business isn’t focusing on the right things.

It is great to see leadership in the field. Dealing with front-line team members should remind leadership of 3 critical keys to success.
#1- Your internal customers, especially customer-facing team members, are as important, if not more so than, your external customers.
#2 - Empathy is free! Treat others as you want to be treated! When I was starting my career, my mentor told me that you have 2 ears and 1 mouth...listen twice as much as you talk when working cross-functionally with others within the organization.
#3- Be humble! Gain your success by helping others reach their goals! Remember, most employees do not leave because of pay but because of the way they are treated or by the culture of their workplace.
CEO Marvin Ellison, visiting the Lowe’s of North Miami Beach for some Q&A with the team: “I try to do this as often as I can. It’s just my way of saying thank you for what you do every day -- taking care of the customers, taking care of the business, and helping us make this a great company. I tell everybody: It always starts with the associates.” #LowesLife
