Despite being critical to all nations economic prosperity and military capabilities strategic metals are largely ignored and under the radar of institutional money. Private investors can invest in this niche market.
THE WORLD ADDED 50% MORE RENEWABLE ENERGY CAPACITY IN 2023 COMPARED TO 2022- Renewable energies are growing faster than ever before: the expansion of global capacities increased by 50% year-on-year to almost 510 gigawatts in 2023. This was reported by the International Energy Agency (IEA) in its annual market report. Photovoltaics accounted for three-quarters of the global expansion, with the largest growth in China, but renewable energies also reached new highs in Europe, the USA, and Brazil. Despite this unprecedented development, the IEA warns that more efforts are needed globally to triple capacities by 2030, as agreed at the last World Climate Conference COP28. The most crucial challenge is the financing and use of renewable energies in most emerging and developing countries, says Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol. SOURCE : International Energy Agency (IEA)

Energy communities are one of the key elements for achieving the EU's energy transition - by 2050, half of Europe's citizens could be producing up to 50% of the EU's renewable energy. However, the number of energy communities within 🇪🇺 is growing too slowly. Do you want to set up an energy community, but are not sure how to finance it or which models exist? One of the kinds of energy that has been suggested to replace fossil fuel is Renewable Energy. Renewable energy is energy from natural sources and because it produces energy from sources that we can use again without the emission of greenhouse gases, it is also referred to as clean energy. Renewable Energy is important for our future yet the more frequent use of this type of energy has not outweighed the massive demand for fossil fuel, though the demand for renewable energy is growing quickly. So, I have two questions: 🔷 With still the massive demand for fossil fuels, at what point in our future would clean or renewable energy completely replace fossil fuels? 🔷 Despite the growing demand for renewable energy, is this demand growing at a rate to adequately combat the effects of climate change soon? Switching to renewable energy sources is crucial for reducing the amount of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases that are released into the atmosphere. However, the output of renewable energy can fluctuate due to changes in the weather. By storing any surplus of renewable energy as hydrogen, it can be used at different times and places, where it’s needed the most: https://lnkd.in/ews9a8UW #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Hydrogen

🤔 Is it possible to make the power of the wind and the sun even more efficient and sustainable? ➡️ (Spoiler alert: the answer is yes!) 📈 Growth in renewable energy keeps breaking records around the world, but in today’s challenging global scenario we also need to make sure that we are growing on the right direction to ensure clean, reliable, and affordable energy for all. 🚀 This means investing where we can make the most out of green energy production. 🔋 For example, by leveraging on repowering -or in other words, upgrading existing power plants- we can increase plant efficiency and reduce generation costs. Or by developing battery storage we can improve flexibility alongside load management. 🌍 We plan to invest approximately 12.1 billion euros between 2024 and 2026 focusing on these technologies, as well as solar and onshore wind generation, allowing us to deliver around 13.4 GW of new renewable capacity and to ramp up our total renewable capacity to 86% emission-free production by 2026 in line with our ambition to reach zero emissions across all scopes by 2040. Making the power of the wind and the sun even more efficient and sustainable is not only possible, but also necessary.
