Q2 Industry Trends: What’s New in the Job Market? As we wrap up Q2, let's take a deep dive into some of the key trends and insights shaping the job market. Staying informed about these developments can help you stay ahead in your career or business. Here's what we've observed: Focus on Skills over Degrees: Experience and demonstrably relevant skills are becoming increasingly important than traditional educational qualifications. Companies are recognizing that valuable skills can be acquired through various avenues, not just university degrees. Early Career & Diverse Hiring: Attracting young talent and creating a diverse workforce are priorities for many companies. This includes focusing on skills and potential in entry-level hires, and actively seeking candidates from underrepresented backgrounds. Prioritizing Candidate Experience: The recruitment process itself is under scrutiny. Companies are aiming to create a smooth and positive candidate experience to attract and retain top talent. This might involve faster turnaround times, clear communication, and a focus on building relationships. Data-Driven Recruitment: Leveraging data analytics allows companies to identify the best talent pools, tailor job postings more effectively, and refine their recruitment strategies for better results. The Rise of Talent Marketplaces: Online platforms connecting skilled professionals with businesses are growing in popularity. This creates a more dynamic talent pool and allows for a wider reach for both employers and job seekers. We're thrilled to welcome Q3, ready to tackle new challenges and embrace fresh opportunities #ThankYou #LookingForward

The Talent Whisperer | Talent Acquisition Manager-NEU| Diversity & Inclusion | HR Professional | Talent Attraction & Employer Branding
I recently came across a post from a from a recruiter that sparked my interest. They argued that 'skills get you hired, but behaviors get you promoted' and highlighted the importance of behavioral interviews in predicting long-term success. They made a compelling point that skills can become outdated, but behaviors like adaptability, strategic thinking, and collaboration are essential for growth and retention. 🤔... Let´s get into it! While behaviors are important, let's not oversimplify the complexity of human growth and adaptation. Not all skills are transferable, and some require specialized training and experience. In today's economic climate, companies need immediate expertise to maintain operational efficacy. A skills-first approach makes financial sense and complements behavioral interviews. Let's take a balanced approach to hiring, considering both skills and behaviors. Invest in upskilling existing employees and prioritize transferable skills for new hires. This ensures agility, loyalty, and retention - crucial in a volatile economy. New employees should possess direct or transferable skills to contribute effectively within a short timeframe (ideally six months). This is no longer a preference, but a necessity for sustainable business practices. #Hiring #SkillsVsBehaviors #BalancedApproach #SustainableBusiness
