The simplest things often turn out to be the most difficult to master. If we look back on one hundred+ years of decorative lighting design, there's only one kind of luminaire which has succeeded in doing the minimal thing properly, and that's the reduced functional design of the linear luminaire. However, in my opinion, only a select few designs have succeeded in adding something worthwhile to the linear narrative. Here's my top four. #lighting #lightingdesign #light #decorativelighting #minimal #minimalism #lightandbuilding2024 #lightandbuilding

Founder and Owner of SOLARIS Window Film, award-winning experts in residential and commercial window film installation
Modern home design (from my perspective): Step 1: Start with a box, or multiple boxes smashed and stacked together Step 2: Cut holes in the box to see outside, let light in, be closer to nature, etc. Step 3: Immediately cover those holes (windows) to block views, keep out light, add privacy, etc. I love the idea of bare, but better. With hundreds of window films to choose from, you can dial in the desired level of privacy and light, without sacrificing your view and connection to nature. Think window film first.
"Go bare, but better." - House Beautiful / Hearst According to the design team at House Beautiful, window film is a stylish and "innovative solution to stop UV rays from making their way into your room, protecting both your furniture and your family from sun damage." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Feeling stumped on window treatment ideas for a residential design? See their entire gallery of beautiful homes featuring stunning drapes, cornices and yes, window film. https://lnkd.in/gx36nBm8

TL;DR: Our commitment to quality, attention to detail, and innovative design is what we believe sets us apart. Designing with a difference is what Kia Designs is all about, and our creative vision can make a space truly unique. RTFA: Take a moment and visualise stepping into a sophisticated, well-designed entrance, a perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. This vision is brought to life our recently completed Hampstead project, where handcrafted pieces have transformed countless spaces. Part of our brief was to transform a utility space, WC, and gym into a stylish guest cloakroom, complete with a larger open armoire for everyday use and a concealed utility space. Our uncompromising focus on detail and quality is evident in every piece. Featuring prominently in this transformation is the Corbett Modernist Lighting Pendant in Hardback Ivory Ice colour, adding a chic, contemporary touch. But the showstopper has to be the Channeled Fleure Bench Midi. Upholstered in Designers Guild's Varese Ochre cotton velvet, this piece stands on natural oiled walnut legs, a finish that accentuates the natural beauty of the wood. What makes the bench stand out is the solid construction - a solid beech and birch frame with a webbed seat that speaks of high build quality. Each piece is built by hand in a workshop in Wiltshire, England, ensuring complete attention to detail and structural integrity. The transformation further includes a geometric wall panelling cloakroom with a hidden door and brass inlays, adding an element of surprise and sophistication. 📸 SarahFyffe 🖤 #AllInTheDetails #BespokeInteriors #LuxuryLiving ##CustomDesign #InteriorGoals #TailoredSpaces #DesignInspiration #HandmadeLuxury #PersonalisedSpaces #DesignExcellence #TimelessElegance #CustomLiving #TransformYourHome #BespokeLuxury #CustomElements #InteriorPerfection #TailoredInteriors #DesignMasterpiece #CollaborativeDesign #BespokeCreation

We all know that mirrors can make a room appear larger, but they can also be used as a design element to help complete whatever look you're looking for. A mirror can provide either contrast or balance when used correctly. It can also unify a space or serve as the focal point. #hometips #dreamhome #homedecor #thejessegroup
