RecruitMilitary is back at Fort Liberty!! Tomorrow from 11am to 3pm EST, Chris Stevens leads an awesome event for our Veterans and #transitioningmilitary (and spouses!!). Stop by and chat with Lamarr Couser, B.A. with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) and make sure you understand your benefits. When you sign up for the event, you will fill out a profile, which will include your background, industry preferences, skills, and an uploaded resume. When you check in tomorrow, you'll have a QR code available to use while you make your rounds. Makes it easy! A couple tips: 1. Make sure your profile is at 100% (or as close as possible!) 2. Practice your intro (elevator or 30-second speech) so that it feels comfortable. 3. Look at the companies that will be there, and do a little research. Goes a long way when you know a little something about them! 4. Meet every company!! I cannot stress this enough. You never know where opportunities may be. If you don't know anything about them, ASK! 5. Network as much as search for your next career move. Recruiters tend to talk to recruiters, so the more you network and connect, the better. 6. For solid conversations and potential leads, make sure to send thank you notes. Whether that's via email (if you got a card), or via LinkedIn (if you connected there), let them know you appreciate their time. Oh...and keep your name in their view ;) These events have provided some excellent averages, as you can see on the flyer here. Once the event is over, pop over onto our job board, and see what other opportunities there may be for you. There are over 250k listed on there as of this post!

Happy New Year 🌟 Transitioning from military service to a federal job career? 🌟 The journey from the military to federal employment is an exciting transition, and I've gathered some valuable tips based on my own experience to help you along the way! 🔍 **Explore Opportunities:** Dive into USAJOBS.gov to discover roles that match your skills and interests in the federal sector. 🛠️ **Translate Your Skills:** Showcase your leadership, problem-solving, and technical abilities in civilian terms. Highlight how your military experience aligns with the job requirements. 🤝 **Network:** Connect with veterans already thriving in federal roles. Their insights and advice can be invaluable in navigating the federal hiring process. Utilize LinkedIn, it is a wonderful networking tool. 📚 **Education and Certifications:** Consider additional education or certifications required for your desired positions. It can make a significant difference! Again, networking is key with this, as the ones who are already in federal government can attest to what is desired and what is not. 📝 **Craft a Winning Resume:** Tailor your resume for federal roles, emphasizing achievements and responsibilities relevant to the job you're eyeing. As a hiring manager, I do not want to see an entire page dedicated to training classes you have taken over your career. I want to see how your experience is relevant to the position for which I am hiring for. 🌟 **Leverage Veteran Preference:** Make the most of veteran preference points available in federal hiring. They could give you an edge! 🤲 **Utilize Resources:** Lean on transition assistance programs and veterans' organizations. They exist to support your successful transition. Remember, this shift might take time, so stay persistent and patient. Your military background brings incredible value to federal service.
