I've been a part of over 100,000 home improvement projects and here's why most sales leaders fail in our business. Most sales leaders focus on sales only. Once the job is sold they assume that it's somebody else's problem and that their job is done. But we cannot sell what we cannot build. Meaning that if we want to keep on selling.... We have to actually build the stuff that we sell. Getting a contract signed is the start of the job ..... not the end of it. Optimism in sales is a lethal weapon, while pessimism is a handbrake. Dads saying 30 years ago in the car yard he owned said, for every rust bucket of a car, there is a nut that fits behind the steering wheel. My dad always believed in the power of optimism, even when trying to sell an unsalable car. The buyers was always found. As sales professionals, it's important to remember that positivity can make all the difference in closing a deal. So let's all take a page out of my dad's book and approach every opportunity with a can-do attitude.
