I make print/sign/label/promo sales easier, better, and more fun for people who can’t, won’t, or don’t know how.
I read a job description recently and it almost made me want to apply. Check it out: • Has a reputation for initiating ideas and programs presenting options, not just delivering what is requested; • Has a strong appreciation and regard for the challenges, pressures and stress that continually surround an organization; • Is politically sensitive and savvy but not political; • Has a high level of curiosity. I am constantly asked about hiring a sales rep. Most of the questions have to do with where to look. This post addresses a different topic: What to look for. From the outside, does your company look like a place great people would want to work?

I can vouch for this being different, as Shahar says. Great culture, great product, very low friction sales cycle, because groundcover's eBPF sensor provides users almost everything they need out of the box (logs, metrics, traces, K8s events and health), with zero configuration, zero training, making it much easier to adopt. Most of our customers start with a free trial and get value without any help from us. Does that sound like your current product you are selling? Probably not. For those organizations that are using prometheus, OTel, Grafana etc., our platform is 100% open source friendly and we can integrate that data seamlessly. I am looking to build a sales hub here in Minnesota, so if you are a proven new logo hunter, with a background in observability, I have one spot left for someone to join my team, and join us a couple days a week in the office, while still having the flexibility or working from home, but must be based in Minnesota. Customers using legacy products, love the groundcover experience as it is so very different than what they are used to. Nothing like this exists in the market.
Have you heard?groundcover is hiring in the USA! 🌟 We've got an exciting opportunity tailor-made for you – yes, you with a passion for B2D, thriving on deep tech discussions, and love the dev community vibe. Now is the perfect time to join groundcover's dynamic Sales team as an Account Executive. Take the lead in introducing groundcover's innovative observability solution to the North American market, creating new business opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships🚀 Are you ready?

Looking for an AE spot, remote sales role, or to ride the next startup to IPO? My advice is be careful. Consider many things, but the two that stand out are TAM and PMF. These are 2 of the single best ways to know if a company is worth an experienced sales rep moving from a reputable company to a startup. SDRs or early-career AEs may need to move into a role at a more early-stage, less reputable startup to gain a couple years of valuable experience in the industry/segment of their choice - however.... a word of caution. It always aches me to see tenured, well performing AEs at a great company move to a little-known startup for a bigger OTE because 8+ out of 10 times the next time I speak with them, I hear they 1. never hit quota 2. wear 5 hats and sell less, have no work-life balance 3. get laid off A number of other things can go awry even in good, growing startups with big TAMs and healthy PMF. So the risk of not having a great product with a large market is too big to not consider. Missing anything you MUST have? P.S. - Deel's hiring rockstars. deel.com/careers

Why Should You Consider Hiring a VA? 🤔 Time-Saving⌛: Imagine freeing up hours each week by delegating tasks like email management, calendar scheduling, and social media content creation. With a VA, you can focus on strategic decision-making rather than getting lost in the minutiae.🫣

I’ll admit that this one might be a little bit obvious. Successful entrepreneurs aren’t successful within a vacuum. We all have a great team and support network behind us. When I recommend hiring great partners, I don’t just mean someone who can do the job you’re hiring them for. You should seek partners who have great character and whom you like and respect. You and your partners will be working long hours together and making stressful decisions. If you don’t respect your partner(s), your team won’t last long. Fill your team with people who have great character and you’re well on your way to success. When choosing your partners and team members, always remember that you can teach skills, but you can’t teach character.
