The passion problem: no passion, no glory. True?   I often see posts from successful entrepreneurs go by saying that following your passion is the path to success. I always lamented not having a singular, fiery passion for something. There certainly is an enchantment in listening to someone speak fervently about their pursuit.   I'm reminded of a captivating guest lecturer at the University of Ghent who, with love, unraveled the tales of Azaleas. His quest to cultivate the perfect conical Azalea led him to traverse China's mountain slopes, only to return the following year and find his beloved blooms buried under volcanic ash. His misty eyes mirrored the heartbreaking moment he discovered the mountain had transformed into a volcano.   My father could make heathlands seem like a treasure trove of stories. I am completely different. I find everything interesting. And surprisingly, it's proving quite handy now! In times of #change, big or small, genuine interest is essential. Being sincerely intrigued by what others know, think, feel, doubt, resonate with, or question lays the foundation for #trust – crucial for collaborative action and paving the way forward.   Thus, every day, I find joy in engaging warm conversations with people. More importantly, with #opinime, our change navigation tool, I assist change managers in identifying the opportune moments for #dialogue during #transitions.   Curious to know more? Change occurs in my personal and professional life every day. Sometimes it occurs slowly over a long period. In others, it seems to occur quickly. The cicada emergence in the Midwest reminds me of change in my own life. Each cicada changes slowly underground for years with undetected activity. Then suddenly once every few years they emerge with a rapid transformation in appearance. This cicada on a neighborhood tree reminds me that change in my life is always happening whether I perceive it or not. #change #transformation #growth #cicada
