Several common working conditions of two-stage telescopic arms:
🔺 🔻 🔺 🔻 🔺 🔻
✅ 1. Deep pit excavation
The two-stage telescopic arm can effectively extend the excavation depth and is suitable for working conditions that require excavation of deeper ditches, pipes, wells or foundation pits. The telescopic arm can work in a small space, improving construction flexibility.
✅ 2. High-altitude operations
The telescopic arm can also be used for high-altitude operations, such as demolishing high-rise buildings or handling high objects. The flexibility of the telescopic arm allows the excavator to operate in a larger height range, which is suitable for high-altitude and long-distance demolition or installation tasks.
✅ 3. Narrow space operations
In a limited space (such as urban roads, indoor construction)
✅ 4. Loading and unloading
The telescopic arm can achieve a larger operating range in loading and unloading tasks, which is suitable for scenes such as docks and ports where materials need to be frequently transferred. The telescopic arm can grab or carry materials from different heights to reduce operation time.

Accurately measuring stockpiles using traditional surveying methods can be time-consuming. Fortunately, traditional methods aren't the only way to measure anymore.
Pablo Giraldo from The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western faced the challenge of accurate stockpile measurement on his site and joined forces with Trevor Broussard at DroneDeploy to find a solution.
The answer was a high-accuracy workflow that compared volume measurements obtained from conventional surveying methods with DroneDeploy’s volume annotation tool.
With this workflow, Pablo and his team were able to get more accurate measurements at a fraction of the time and effort.

🌟 Unlocking Underground: The Value of Photogrammetry in Subsurface Environments 🌟
In the realm of underground exploration and construction, traditional surveying methods often face significant challenges. Enter photogrammetry—a game-changer in the way we capture, analyze, and interpret subsurface environments.
🚀 Why Photogrammetry?
Photogrammetry leverages photographic images to create precise 3D models and maps of spaces. When applied to underground environments, it brings a multitude of benefits:
- Accuracy and Detail: High-resolution images provide detailed and accurate representations of underground structures. This level of detail is crucial for planning, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
- Safety: Reduces the need for personnel to enter hazardous underground areas, minimizing risk and enhancing worker safety.
- Efficiency: Speeds up the surveying process. Capturing images is faster than traditional methods, and data processing can be automated.
- Cost-Effective: Reduces labor costs and the need for expensive, specialized equipment. The technology is becoming increasingly affordable and accessible.
- Versatility: Can be used in a variety of underground settings, from mining and tunneling to archaeological sites and urban infrastructure projects.
🔍 Real-World Applications
Mining: Helps in mapping ore bodies, monitoring tunnel integrity, and planning extraction processes.
Tunneling: Assists in pre-construction planning, monitoring excavation progress, and ensuring structural stability.
Archaeology: Enables detailed documentation of underground heritage sites without disturbing the artifacts.
Urban Infrastructure: Aids in the inspection and maintenance of underground utilities like sewer systems and subways.
📈 The future is now here at MetaSpatial Solutions as we continue to advance our technology and solutions, the applications of photogrammetry in underground environments will only expand. From enhancing safety protocols to boosting efficiency and reducing costs, the value it brings is undeniable.
Big shout out to Active Survey New Zealand and the innovative thinking of the team to leverage the #ECHO reality capture solution.

🏗️ Technology in Action: Baseline model creation
No pre-defined model? No surveyor on-site? No problem with the Leica MC1 machine control solution from Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon ❗️
Watch Alex J., Excavator Operator at C3 Construction Ltd, creating a baseline model using logged points at road surface height when the infrastructure is not yet modelled.
The solution not only guides the operator using reference models, but also allows the operator to make even complex models directly on the panel without leaving the cab and without the assistance of a surveying engineer.
Follow the progress of the live digital representation of the design information and real-time cut/fill indications while digging. This ensures more uptime and operator satisfaction while increasing safety and productivity.
