This year's theme, "#CountHerIn," brought many wonderful stories, and today, we narrate the journey of Nandini B, Director of Tescom Private Limited, who made a courageous decision in her life to follow her passion! Born and raised in Chennai's cultural hub, Nandini's early academic pursuits were far removed from the world of technology and engineering. Initially following a path laid out by familial expectations, she found herself ensconced in a public sector job that offered little in the way of challenge or personal fulfilment. However, beneath this conventional exterior lay a restless spirit yearning for entrepreneurship and innovation. Inspired by her neighbour and mentor, she ventured into the electronics manufacturing sector with Tescom, embarking on a steep learning curve that would see her transition from a silent observer to a key architect of the company's expansion. Today Indus Net Technologies (INT.) got National Exports Excellence Award by Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC). It was received by our young gun Ananya Deb and veteran Santanu Mukherjee in Delhi. I am a firm believer that the younger generation is much more evolved, and capable. They need to be given the right opportunity, mentorship , autonomy, responsibility and reward to get the best out of them. They are definitely different, but not difficult, if you know how to navigate them and their priorities. I am trying to learn how to best channelize their energy in building INT. There is a big influx of young talent lately who are taking bigger responsibilities. This will continue to happen and I look forward to bringing a very different model of scaling an IT/Digital business than what has been followed over decades. We will never fail. We will either learn or succeed.

Dr. Ekroop Caur emphasized that the primary goal of the Tech Yatra was to showcase the developments happening in Mysuru. She noted that this was also a request from companies and industries in the region. The government has made a conscious decision to support companies in the Beyond Bengaluru clusters, recognizing Mysuru's great potential that needs to be highlighted to the world. Dr. Caur mentioned that Mysuru already has a well-developed semiconductor ecosystem. The upcoming EMC cluster will provide a significant opportunity for companies to explore and establish their operations in Mysuru. She stressed the importance of having an anchor industry or industries, which can pave the way for others to set up in the region. Additionally, she pointed out that the incentives for zones in regions beyond the Bengaluru area are much more lucrative for both startups and existing industries compared to those in Bengaluru. In April 2024, we were thrilled to have 40 students from the Ankita School - a government school in Bangalore - come for a factory visit. Over a two-hour session, the children were introduced to the fascinating world of high-performance plastics and taken through the various processes we employ in making our numerous parts. Most importantly, we encouraged them to understand that companies only survive because of stringent quality processes that consistently deliver great products.
