When I founded MADI Apparel, I had a very clear vision - I wanted to make sure every aspect of the model aligned with my personal values. The cool part about this is I’m proud to say those values never faltered, and it allowed us to be authentic, true, responsible, guided and trustworthy along the way. Ten years later: I’m a different person. Sure, my personality is the same and I still have the same amazing loved ones, the same goals of making a difference and changing the world :). But I’m stronger, I’m wiser, I’m more resilient, and I WANT to constantly change. I am ever seeking, ever feeling, always curious and forever wanting to use my skills and gifts as tools for bringing light to others’ lives. In the journey from founding MADI Apparel to the new growth and evolution into Slow Motion Goods, my commitment to making a difference remains unwavering. A decade of personal growth has fueled this transformation, leading to a vision that transcends the transactional. Slow Motion Goods is not just a brand; it's a sanctuary where individuals can immerse themselves in a unique blend of retail, sensory indulgence, and community engagement, fostering connections with mind, body, and spirit through intentional moments that bring you back to Self. Our future holds more than mere products; it promises a departure from the digital frenzy and mass consumerism. Inspired by global explorations, Slow Motion Goods redefines retail as a full-bodied sensory experience, inviting individuals to embrace self-awareness and growth, meaningful connections and an ethical, non-traditional approach. Rooted in four pillars - Shop, Sip, Sound, and Sanctuary - Slow Motion Goods stands for unity, inviting everyone to slow down, engage, and connect. Because after all, we’re one body, one earth, and one people. I hope you’ll stick with me in this new season, I can’t wait to continue the conversation. Speaking of conversation…click here to head to our first Sound File - Live from The Sanctuary at Slow Motion Goods - where I spill all the tea on this evolution… #sustainability #entrepreneurship #digitalmarketing #personalbranding

When you are married, conversations about each other's work are inevitable. During one such chat about skincare marketing my husband suggested "Super Maker by Jaime Schmidt". Though I'm usually all about fiction, I decided to give it a whirl—a productive use of my free time, right? Super Maker is a book on how a confused, young woman sets on to create a job that brings her joy and establishes a multi-million-dollar business out of it. Jaime Schmidt's journey wasn't unlike many others. She grappled with the eternal question: "what's my purpose?". The catch? She actually sought the answer. That quest led her to a DIY natural skincare class in Portland, Oregon and then set about developing her own batches of soaps, shampoos, lotions, and the masterpiece - natural deodorants. The book takes you through the humble beginnings of Schmidt's Naturals from peddling kitchen-made products at farmers market, to scoring deals with major retailers like Target, Costco, and eventually being acquired by Unilever. A simple yet profound read offering a blend of motivation, humour, and actionable guidance for the entrepreneurial journey. Full of priceless advice on product development, sales, branding, marketing, customer engagement, Super Maker stands as the ultimate playbook for aspiring creators. I will leave you with Jaime's mantra - "Say yes now, and then figure out how." #Entrepreneurship #Skincare #BusinessBook #StartupLife #SmallBusiness #SuccessStory #Inspiration #Motivation #WomenEntrepreneurs #BookRecommendation #BusinessJourney #NaturalSkincare #SuperMaker #JaimeSchmidt #MarketingStrategy #BrandBuilding #Innovation #CreativeEntrepreneurship

My mother was a Tupperware agent when I was in school. 🏷️🧾 Trust me, I’m still using those bottles today. 😭 But here’s the catch—Tupperware perfected their product, yet they’re now facing bankruptcy after their Chapter 11 filing on September 17. This proves that even a perfect product can’t guarantee long-term success. Here’s what businesses should remember: 🫧Keep up with trends – Innovate regularly to stay relevant as consumer preferences evolve. 🫧 Explore new product lines – A great product may last, but it limits repeat sales. 🫧 Focus on brand image – Building a strong, evolving brand identity is as important as the product itself. They could have established themselves as Sustainable brand and explored different industries altogether. Mastery isn’t enough—adaptability is key. #tupperware #trend #bankruptcy #adaptability #brandimage #startup #stories #success #failure #outreachnetwork #network #strategy

Which Business to Start: Vinyl Wine Cafe or Clean Skincare? Answers: https://lnkd.in/gAzfjV6p #BusinessIdeas #WineCafe #SkincareBusiness #Entrepreneurship #Seattle #Rio Hey everyone! 🌟 Imagine you have a budget of $250,000 to $300,000 to kickstart an exciting new business. You've got two fantastic options to choose from: Option 1: A Cozy Vinyl Wine Café 🍷 Picture this: a chic space under 2000 sqft in either Seattle or Rio. You'd offer a selection of wine, cider, and pastries, along with tasty snacks like empanadas and ice cream. To make it even more inviting, you'd have a collection of board games, card games, and puzzles for customers to enjoy while sipping their drinks. Option 2: An E-commerce Clean Skincare Company 🧴 This venture would focus on eco-friendly skincare basics sourced mainly from Africa and Asia. Think about the growing market for clean beauty products—there’s definitely a demand! Plus, you'd have the opportunity to educate customers on the benefits of using sustainably sourced ingredients. So, which one would you choose and why? 🤔 My Thoughts: A wine café could be a fun social hub, fostering a sense of community. On the other hand, a...

Who is this inspiring #womanpreneur? This is Natalie Esau :) ... and below are four (4) incredible lessons Richard Isaac and I learnt from her around life, leadership and entrepreneurship! First, Natalie Esau is the beauty and wellness shining star you need to know in Ottawa! 👑 As the powerhouse behind The Upkeep Shoppe, she’s combined her passion for skincare with serious business savvy, creating a space where people not only get pampered but leave feeling like their best selves. With her bold vision and relentless drive, Natalie has carved out her place as a leader in the industry—and she’s just getting started! 💥 As a surprise guest on our Millionaires Idea Vault Show with Karla Briones, here are the four (4) incredible lessons plus actionable tips you can leverage in our #business and #career journey: 1. Focus on Customer Experience: Natalie emphasizes that her spa, the Upkeep Shop, thrives because it offers more than just services; it delivers an experience. She highlights the importance of making every customer interaction memorable and unique. Actionable Insight: Design your business to provide a holistic customer experience, not just a product or service. Incorporate elements like personalization, customer care, and a welcoming environment that make people feel valued. 2. Pivot and Adapt During Challenges: During the pandemic, Natalie launched a successful skincare line in response to the disruptions in her spa business. She recognized the need to diversify her offerings and respond to changing customer needs. Actionable Insight: Be flexible and ready to pivot when external challenges arise. Identify new customer demands and create complementary products or services that can keep your business afloat during tough times. 3. Leverage Brand Storytelling for Growth: Natalie points out that branding and storytelling played a crucial role in building her skincare line and spa business. By sharing personal stories and connecting with her audience on an emotional level, she was able to build trust and loyalty. Actionable Insight: Incorporate your personal or brand story into your marketing strategy. Use it to connect with customers, humanize your brand, and differentiate yourself from competitors. 4. Build Strategic Partnerships: Natalie collaborated with local businesses, such as Richard’s wife's tea company, to create a unique, value-added service at her spa. By forming partnerships with complementary businesses, she enhanced the overall experience for her customers. Actionable Insight: You can look for partnerships with businesses that complement your offerings. Strategic collaborations can elevate your product/service while sharing resources and expanding your customer reach. #womeninbusiness #entrepreneurship #founders #leadership #careertransition

Executive Director, Edo State Agency for Mass Education || Business Coach || Life Coach || Educator || International Speaker.
I'm going to share with you 3 tips to help boost your business. CHOOSE QUALITY OVER COST Invest in better quality products or services rather than focusing solely on cutting costs. Don't try to save money by making low-quality products. Customers will buy more from you if you offer them high-quality products. FOCUS ON REVENUE GENERATION Focus on making more money by selling more products, not by spending less money. And remember, there is no ONE RIGHT WAY TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS. BE ADAPTABLE AND CREATIVE You need to be flexible, creative, and adaptable to deal with the changing world of business. If technology is the new trend, adopt it. Back in the day, most hair stylists only made braids or fixed wigs, but now they make wigs, do online tutorials on how to style hair and sell their wigs and hair products both online and offline. They do this to remain in the business game and grow. Barbers don't only cut hair, they make cornrows, dye hair, style, sell hair products, and even create online content on haircuts. Most of them have websites where you can reach them or know more about them. Restaurants don't just sell at their locations anymore, they do takeouts and online delivery. Even small restaurants make use of delivery apps like Hey Food, Chowdeck, Glovo, etc. You can order food from anywhere. Location does not matter anymore. Gyms now offer online gym classes and sell gym equipment. If you want to succeed in this present business world, you need to be creative! #solaokunkpolor #dreamsworkafrica #businesscoach #entrepreneurship #business #entrepreneurship #innovation #quality #revenue #adaptability #creativity #technology #trends #tips #success #growth #growthmindset

Navigating Challenges in the Gifting Business. As an entrepreneur in the gifting industry, I know that spreading joy comes with its fair share of challenges. From delighting customers with the perfect present to managing logistics and staying ahead of the competition, the journey of running a successful gifting business is both rewarding and demanding. Here are three of the toughest challenges I faced and the three ways I overcame them: Customization is king, and meeting the demand for personalized gifts can be incredibly daunting. Offering clients engraved messages to tailor-made gift baskets, empowers them to create one-of-a-kind experiences that make their loved ones feel truly special. While the effort is higher, this is key in retaining loyalty. The gifting industry experiences seasonal spikes in demand, especially during holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. Stock up on popular products and ramp up your temporary workforce before time to handle increased order volumes effectively. Leverage technology to streamline inventory management, order processing, and fulfillment operations, ensuring smooth operations during peak seasons. The gifting industry is highly competitive, with countless players vying for customers' attention and dollars. Invest in building a strong brand identity and cultivating a loyal customer base through personalized communication, loyalty programs, and customer feedback initiatives. Agility and Adaptability are truly the reason I have built a successful start-up that sustained even through COVID. More on my journey to follow. -Karan Sehdev #startup #entrepreneur #growth #successstory
