In recent weeks, I've been immersed in some truly enriching conversations with passionate individuals exploring new opportunities in the ABA field. One standout moment came when a candidate posed a unique question about the implementation of culture at Autism Care Partners. Honestly, it's not a query that I get asked often, but the authenticity behind it struck a chord. In the dynamic world of recruitment, where LinkedIn feeds echo with frustrations about false promises, I take pride in a different approach. Unlike those who peddle wishful tales to candidates, my commitment is rooted in transparency. As a recruiter, it's not just about matching skills to positions; it's about embodying the essence of our company's mission, vision, and culture. Join me on this journey, where honesty is the compass guiding our pursuit of the perfect fit. Are you ready for a #LifeChanging opportunity?! #RecruitmentRealTalk #CultureMatters #abatherapy #HIRING #BCBA #opencommunication #ABAJourney #AuthenticRecruitement #JoinOurMission #

Age discrimination is a silent issue in job searches. My take? Experience and wisdom come with age, adding invaluable depth to any team. Your years are assets, not barriers. They bring a seasoned perspective that can guide and enrich a workplace. #hiringbuddy #careers #motivations

Scanning the BBC News page this morning as I always do, I spotted this article towards the bottom. Obviously, with World events taking front and centre, it wasn't going to be at the top. However, it struck a chord as the headline was 'Autistic people held back by job interview questions - report'. Now, those who know me, know I am quite passionate about making sure Neurodiverse job applicants get the right support and also, businesses are equipped to properly support them. Creating a tranche of reasonable adjustments which, to be blunt, don't always sit comfortably with hiring managers. There's sometimes the undertones of lack of fairness that's evident. Not fairness to the Neurodiverse applicant, but fairness to the non Neurodiverse applicants. In my books, fairness runs both ways. It's an excellent article, with the report written by Sir Robert Buckland KC, which lists 19 recommendations including : Signing up for the an employers' index for neurodiversity to access guidance on designing inclusive processes Offering career-progression training focused on autistic staff Ensuring careers advisers can give appropriate advice to autistic jobseekers There are discussions to be had in all organisations and businesses, Staffordshire County Council included, around alternative ways of recruiting, video CV's, practical tests and assessments for recruiting, training in recognising and supporting Neurodiverse conditions and support, timescales for submitting applications, formats of interviews, question structure and way more. This isn't a pop at any one person or organisation. More a wake up call for all of us to begin to think outside of the box when it comes to recruitment. Have a read if you can, only takes a few minutes and maybe start a conversation. #autism #neurodiverse #abilitynotdisability #recruitment #employers #jobs #careers #equalitydiversityinclusion https://lnkd.in/ev6g_q2p

Age Shouldn't Be a Barrier: My Encounter with Ageism in the Job Search Finding a job can be tough, but for many experienced workers, age can become an unexpected hurdle. Unfortunately, ageism is a very real issue in the workplace. Today, I want to share my own experiences and open a conversation about how age discrimination is impacting job seekers. Facing the Double Standard I've been applying for jobs that perfectly match my skillset. I have years of experience, a proven track record, and a passion for the industry. However, getting interviews seems to be a constant struggle. I can't help but wonder if my resume is being overlooked because of my age. Job descriptions sometimes highlight a preference for "recent graduates" or emphasize a "fast-paced environment" which can be interpreted as a code for "young and energetic." Age is an Asset, Not a Detriment What employers might not realize is that experience is invaluable. I've honed my skills, developed problem-solving abilities, and possess a wealth of institutional knowledge. My age demonstrates my dedication to a particular field and the stability I can bring to a team. Ageism shouldn't hold us back. We Need to Talk About Ageism Ageism is a widespread issue that deserves open discussion. By sharing our experiences, we can raise awareness and challenge these biases. Let's encourage employers to value the diverse strengths that experienced workers bring to the table. Age is a number, not a limitation. What are your thoughts? Have you faced ageism in your job search? Share your experiences in the comments below! #Ageism #JobSearch #ExperiencedWorkers If you're looking for a mature and experienced sales professional who can make a significant contribution to your team, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'd love to connect and discuss how my skills and experience can benefit your company. Feel free to share any relevant job openings or connect me with hiring managers in your network! #Sales #OpenToWork #NewOpportunities

In response to the recent article published by BBC News - 'Autistic people held back by job interview questions', we wanted to share our thoughts on the topic: "In reality, #Autistic people are far more skilled and capable than they are perceived to be. They’re often detail orientated, honest, highly skilled individuals who prove to be a valuable asset in any workplace. They just interact differently with the world." 🧠 Building #neuroinclusive workplaces starts with implementing reasonable adjustments - at both #recruitment and post-hire levels. These changes can be made at ZERO cost to your organisation, but the impact is priceless.
