"Clear is kind. Unclear is unkind". Brené Brown Sometimes being clear about what we want, need and expect can feel uncomfortable. Keeping this perspective helps. It's something we'll cover as we dig into the juicy topic of setting boundaries and expectations in next week's Line Management Matters session. These are such important skills for managers to master but the discomfort means we often avoid them altogether. That avoidance results in overwhelm, confusion and sticky relationships. Not good. Have you held on to a task you should delegate because it seemed like more work to train someone to do it? While that might be true, creating an SOP that breaks the task into specific steps makes delegating easier and creates results that can be replicated without you so you can take back that time. #sop #delegate #efficiencyboost

The problem with a substandard review is the cost of putting it right. It’s not only the cost of the work needed to improve the analysis, expand or rewrite sections of the report itself. It’s worth investing in yourself if this work feels aligned to you. Consider mentoring, personal development & anything else that helps you feel confident to operate at your best.
