Interesting article! Micromoves affect your working relationships whether they are intentional or not. This is helpful. Interpersonal relationships with colleagues can be hard to read, hard to plan for and hard to enact. And I wholly recommend this article…with one caveat. This term “micromove” is both fabulous - in that it’s smartly articulating something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately - and, well, dangerous. The more we focus on the potential power of single moments, the more self-conscious and anxious we become about potential outcomes. There needs to be more emphasis on balancing how/when we focus on micromoving…and when to emphasize the importance of improvisational (fluid) communication styles at work. I’m interested in your thoughts!
