The cylinder barrel is an important part of the hydraulic cylinder. Its processing quality directly affects the life and reliability of the entire product. The main processing difficulties are as follows: 🔅 The rigidity of the cylinder blank itself is poor, which easily leads to out-of-tolerance straightness and roundness. The cutting belongs to deep hole processing, and cooling and chip removal are difficult. The machined surface is easily scratched by iron chips. 🔅 The tool bar is slender and has poor rigidity, which makes it easy to vibrate during processing. The surface quality and efficiency of inner wall processing are high, which puts higher requirements on the chip breaking ability and processing stability of the tool. In order to solve this processing problem, GESAC launched a complete solution for cylinder barrel processing.

Controversial article here - laser is 100% a great technology. It’s obvious. However when we wrote this article we tried to stress the importance of always be addressing what the customer actually NEEDS. As amazing as a river system feeding 2+ 40kw lasers might be, is your sales steady enough to support that? Are your suppliers able to keep you running with material? If yes, then laser is the right choice and that’s great! (Don’t skimp out on maintenance people) I can still argue you should take any 2”+ work off your $1.2MM lasers to keep the ware off that investment. Plasma CAN provide a better experience and at 1/20th the price. My point is every tool has its spot. As much as I like the line, “plasma cutting can provide a better experience than laser cutting” the key word is CAN. Personally - I like competing against lasers. Our team does it everyday and often that means the customer wins.

Schaeffler Medium Frequency Technology (MFT) in action 📣📣📣 In this video, we are using our smallest MFT 3.5kW, a hand carry unit to remove a coupling in less than 10 minutes. There was no sign of overheating and surface-burnt coupling. 👷🏻♂️👷♀️ Customers always use a hydraulic puller with a flame torch, and it will take about 30 to 45 minutes (if they’re lucky) to remove the coupling. They also always experience overheating issues, uneven heat distribution, and many more things that slow down the removal of that masterpiece. 🔥🥵 Safe. Simple. Smart. #mft #smt #coupling #schaeffler
