Millions of Americans provide palliative care for loved ones, often juggling work, family, and personal needs with caregiving. Steven Lee, co-founder and CEO of ianacare, emphasized the role of family caregivers as essential partners in palliative care. Family caregivers are often overlooked by the healthcare system, leading to burnout and hindering patient care. There's a growing need for models that recognize caregivers as part of the care team and offer them resources and support. As hospice leaders, you have the power to make a difference. ✨ By recognizing the immense contributions of family caregivers and implementing support systems, you can ensure better patient outcomes and a more sustainable care environment for everyone involved.

We are delighted to announce that Dawn Jelley, RN, CHPN, and our Product Strategist, will be speaking at the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Conference from July 24-26, 2024. Dawn will be presenting on two pivotal topics that delve into the heart of caregiving: 1. The Caregiver Archetype: Why We Are So Good at Caring, Terrible with Boundaries, and What to Do About ItThis interactive workshop will explore how our emotional styles influence our leadership and caregiving behaviors. By assessing your own tendencies, we will discuss their impact on caregiving traits and boundary management. The session aims to enhance self-awareness among healthcare professionals, equipping you with strategies for balanced leadership that honors your well-being and professional responsibilities. This ultimately fosters a more effective and compassionate approach to caring. 2. How You Can Be Both Vulnerable and Strong in Compassionate Caring. To be a successful caregiver, it takes more than just clinical knowledge. It requires a strong back, soft front, and wild heart. The strong back represents grounded confidence and effective boundaries, the soft front embodies the vulnerability of compassion, and the wild heart signifies the passion to persevere, even in the challenging Hospice and Palliative Care sectors. In this presentation, you will learn about these three crucial caregiving attributes and how to implement them for success. See you July 24- 26 at at the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Conference #HospiceCare #CompassionateCaring #HealthcareLeadership

🌟 Exciting News for Veterans' Care! Provider groups have reintroduced a bill aimed at expanding veterans' access to assisted living. This bill is a significant step towards addressing the growing need for long-term care options for our esteemed veterans and improving their access to quality care. The proposed bill focuses on expanding the Department of Veterans Affairs' (VA) Assisted Living Pilot Program, which currently provides assisted living services to eligible veterans in select locations. With this expansion, more veterans will have access to these vital services, and the program will be extended to additional locations across the country. Leading provider groups, such as the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living, are fully backing this bill. They understand the importance of ensuring that our veterans have access to the care they need and believe that expanding the VA's Assisted Living Pilot Program will meet the growing demand for long-term care services. By expanding access to assisted living, this bill aims to provide veterans with a wider range of choices when it comes to their long-term care needs. It includes essential services such as personal care, medication management, and assistance with daily activities. Additionally, the bill seeks to improve coordination of care between the VA and assisted living facilities, ensuring veterans receive the necessary support and resources. Let's support this bill and recognize the ongoing efforts to improve and expand long-term care options for our veterans. They have selflessly served our nation, and it is our duty to ensure they receive the care and support they deserve. #VeteransCare #AssistedLiving #supportourveterans

We're proud to share that Minnesota Hospice has been recognized by WellSky as a 2023 national best practice agency, a testament to our commitment to quality and caregiver experience. This distinction places us in the top 25% of agencies in the WellSky National Hospice CAHPS database. CAHPS surveys assess patient and caregiver experiences, focusing on the quality of healthcare services. About CAHPS: It stands for Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. It's a program that measures patients' experiences with healthcare services, including hospice care. CAHPS surveys focus on aspects of quality that patients value and are well-positioned to assess, such as the communication skills of providers and the accessibility of services. The Hospice CAHPS specifically evaluates the experiences of families and caregivers with hospice services, aiming to improve the quality of care and patient satisfaction. https://lnkd.in/g7GVcgfZ #HospiceCare #AwardWinning #PatientCareExcellence #ExcellenceInCare #AwardWinningCare #MinnesotaHospice #CaregiverExcellence #CareWithCompassion

Our most complex patients need service delivery models that meet their individual circumstances rather than unrealistically asking them to fit into the existing models that were designed to support the maximum number of patients possible. Providing patient- centered, complex care focused interventions is the way forward. https://lnkd.in/egRuhR6S
