Today I was informed by the Community & Public Sector Union (CPSU - PSU Group) that a Heads of Agreement has been signed with the state of Victoria, netting some materially good wins for Victorian Public Service workers including, but not limited to; pay increases, a lump-sum cost of living cash payment, an additional one-off lump-sum payment for shift workers, and various entitlement enhancements including, but not limited to a substantial increase to caregiver parental leave, and the creation of a working group to explore new ways of working within the public service sector. This is the power of #collectivebargaining. #unionpower #solidarity

On August 22nd, the Wage and Hour Division, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service will provide workers, worker advocates, and other stakeholders with information on the federal laws that protect pregnant workers from discrimination, provide time off for the birth or adoption of a child, and ensure nursing workers can take breaks to pump breast milk while at work.
