NCL to install Solar Pumps in 33 Gaushala of Singrauli In a significant step towards sustainable development under CSR initiatives, NCL signed an MoU for the installation of Solar Pumps in 33 Nos. of Gaushala Established under Mukhyamantri Gau Sewa Yojna in Singrauli amounting to Rupees more than Sixty Lakh on Tuesday. The MoU signed was between Shri V K Singh, Area General Manager, Dudhichua Area, and Shri Gajendra Singh Nagesh, Chief Executive Officer, Zila Panchayat Singrauli (MP). This initiative will provide uninterrupted water supply even without electricity in these Gaushalas. I’ve always believed that some of the best solutions to our environmental challenges come from turning waste into opportunity, and the partnership between #HCLFoundation and #SistemaBio is a perfect example of this. NOIDA’s rapid urbanization has brought with it a surge in waste, and cow dung is a huge part of that problem—one that many don’t realize contributes to serious sanitation and GHG emission issues. I’m genuinely excited to see this project converting cow dung into biogas, one that directly benefits local communities. Over 52 families are now using this clean energy for their cooking needs, and the gaushalas are saving both money and time. Plus, the bio-slurry by-product is a fantastic natural fertilizer alternative, giving farmers and nurseries an affordable, organic option. What really stands out for me, though, is the environmental impact—this initiative is mitigating around 400-500 tons of GHG emissions every year. As someone who’s spent a lot of time working on carbon credits and waste management, I know how hard it can be to create meaningful offsets, so seeing these results is truly inspiring. It’s projects like this that make me optimistic about our journey toward #netzero and sustainable urban development.
