Thank you to everyone who has already donated to the Jordan Winter Charity Drive! So far we have collected over 1.5 tons of donations which will be distributed to various local charities each week. Visit the Estate during the allocated donating times to deliver your donation and collect your wine. (Daily from 10:00 – 16:00.) All clothing donations should be washed and folded as a health and safety precaution for our staff. All clothing donations should be packed in clear plastic bags. NO BLACK BAGS of clothing will be accepted. Dog and cat food is appreciated. This fantastic enterprise is one of four cases informing a forthcoming article in California Management Review , where jointly with Felipe Massa, Sara Beckman, Maria Cristina Sousa, and Özge Kutun we explore alternative forms of organizing to chip away at today's deepest challenges. The importance of this type of initiative was further demonstrated today when the Food Banks Canada released their Hungercount (2024https://lnkd.in/gzqYujhp) report. In Canada, there are now over 2 Million visits to food banks/month. A shocking number and double the number of visits that were happening monthly only 5 years ago. Also many shelters are reporting running out of food. While contributing money to this cause is not the long term solution, it will help to bridge the gap to the time when sustainable solutions are put in place.
