This technique is available for treating the Thoracolumbar junction in individuals experiencing significant pain when lying down is not feasible. Particularly suitable for smaller-sized doctors attending to taller patients, this method also serves as a distraction technique, offering a safer alternative for the ribs compared to prone techniques. It can be applied subsequent to an older vertebral compression injury. No specialized equipment is necessary; typically, a sturdy wall suffices, and if needed, hand protection can be improvised with a wrapped towel. Notably, it provides greater precision than the traditional prone technique, especially when emphasizing segmental extension. Learn through this youtube channel: https://lnkd.in/eA2MVdGN

Instant result of your treatment... Unloading with surgical impella 5.5 Abiomed at the bedside - Instantaneous increase in MAP and weaning of vasopressors - Instantaneous drop in filling LV pressures - Consequent drop in pericardial pressures by unloading the heart BUT... be aware of the right ventricle as abrupt increase in CO with simultaneous decrease in septal/LV contraction and increased venous return may not be tolerated by the right ventricle; as you might notice at the and of the cvp curve were cvp starts to increase after initially drop! # UZ Brussel, tim balthazar, Ines Van Loo, Ashley Welch, Claire Van Oostende, David Vande Meirssche, Bart De Prins

Head Biomedical Engineer, Gait Analysis Laboratory, Royal Children's Hospital/ Clinician Scientist Fellow, Murdoch Children's Research Institution
One of the many examples of how Gait Analysis plays a vital role to inform personalised treatment and care for patients like Roberto. The Gait Analysis service at Monash Health is such an important service provider as the only adult Gait analysis service in the state of Victoria. With cutting-edge technology, including 3D motion analysis and instrumented walkways, this service provides insights into walking patterns, aiding in the treatment of complex walking problems. The data collected is instrumental in decision-making for individual treatments, ensuring the best outcomes for patients. Keep up the good work! Anna Murphy Corey Joseph #gaitanalysis

This post is a shout out to the Monash Health Clinical Gait Analysis Service run by Dr Anna Murphy (Anna Murphy). Attached is a video testimonial of a patient who both requested this service and benefited in a way that allowed him to "fire me" and prioritise life over treatment. Roberto was hit by a car and broke both legs whilst walking on a "break" from work. He requested a gait analysis over an injection into his sacroiliac joint. The gait analysis opened up his recovery into new information and new ways of viewing his chronic pain experience. The service provided is unique and cannot be replaced by other healthcare services. I am a very grateful clinician having been able to work with you Anna Murphy and your team with a number of patients. This case study is so profoundly important in recognition of the MH Clinical Gait Analysis Service role in quantifying gait conditions in relation to pain and injury and in guiding patients to appropriate care. Walking is a universal and fundamental way of dynamically relating to our environment and life. Specific analysis of patient gait is an important part of the healthcare service. When a patient can "fire you" and get on with their own life with agency and control, we are winning. Roberto and I thank you for the crucial service you provide. Danielle Ryan.
