For decades, the Roanoke Valley Resource Authority transferred solid waste from the Tinker Creek Landfill to the Smith Gap Landfill along a 33-mile railway route. When an agreement with the rail carrier was scheduled to expire, RVRA began to explore an alternative solution: truck hauling. Our team played a key role in that conversion, laying out options and guiding implementation. The result: significant annual savings for RVRA. https://lnkd.in/gGUN7VtS #WasteManagement #WasteHauling #Consulting

2moI remember visiting this site a few years ago with Jeff Murray and meeting with Kanawha to evaluate some very old corrugated metal pipe culverts and helping find a creative way to stabilize the old railroad track bed to be suitable for haul truck traffic. Congratulations on a project well done!
