After five years of running retreats where I get to practice my cooking side hustle, I have finally relented, and will give a cooking demonstration at our next retreat 🥑 🌶 🍆 I'll confess, I'm nervous 😱 Why, I hear you ask. And if it's such a big deal, why bother? While I love presenting and public speaking, there's a massive difference between behavioral shift and julienning vegetables. I’m not sure how I'm going to maintain eye contact and not lose a finger 🔪 I’m not sure how to make it fun. I’m not sure how to keep people engaged and involved… 😴 Admittedly these are challenges that constantly face me in my day job. Other than the risk of finger loss, of course. So any tips on how to bring food to life for a bunch of people would be greatly appreciated. As to why I’m doing this, that’s easier. I’m not comfortable doing this, so I should. It will be an experience and I will learn. I have the raw ingredients – the knowledge, the skills, etc. – so I should be able to do this well. It’s also something that people have asked for (repeatedly) which makes me think there are still gaps in the food market. I also love food, and am always bemused by how few people like to (or even can) cook. What better way to break down barriers than to share food? What better place to share food than at a yoga retreat, where everyone is looking for a way to relax, recharge, and reconnect with themselves and others? 🧘♂️ I'll be chopping, dicing, grating, bashing (my favorite) some cool ingredients to make interesting, healthy and fast recipes. We’ll look at the background and nutritional aspects of the dishes and wash the whole shebang down with a glass or two of wine 🍷 And, me being me, I’ll throw in a few silly stories to keep people entertained. So if you want to see me really “on the spot” with something new, join us at Permafarma!
Folks, the next retreat just dropped 💖 A whole weekend of yoga, food, cooking, food, fruit picking, eating, food and some snacks. And if that's not tempting enough, our dear chef Michael Bolan will be sharing some of his secrets during a cooking demonstration 😋 (and I will also lead some really nice yoga classes too) 🧘 So if you like a.) eating b.) yoga and wellness c.) beautiful nature and fresh air d.) time for yourself with ZERO responsibilities Then this might just be for you 🫵 When: 2-4 October 2024 Where: Permafarma, Veselice (about 50 minutes from Prague) Full program, pricing and sign up info here: https://lnkd.in/ef95JXSR https://fb.me/e/7zKob3MzX #theeatretreat

People ask me how do you do an apple juice fast? I tell them it’s easy, just drink apple juice for 3 days. Then they often ask if you need a juicer or can you use a blender. So here are a few tips on how to use a juicer or blender. 4 Great Tips for Making Juice In Your Blender 1. Cut the fruit(s) in small pieces as it will make them easier to liquify 2. Discard the core and/or seeds 3. Add a little liquid (coconut water or good old fashioned H20) 4. If you’re going to discard the pulp (I consume mine) you can peel the fruit if you like. Instructions 1. Blend all the fruit 2. Add the 1/2 cup of pure water and blend again 3. Use a strainer when pouring onto your glass to separate pulp from juice Enjoy this glass of wellness! Social Anxiety & Fear of Public Speaking Expert | Yoga Meditation Mindfulness & Self-Realization Teacher
🔥The foundation of yoga is ahimsa.🔥 Non-harming any living being. As when we destroy life of another we destroy our own life. 9 out of 10 people ends up with a chronic disease on account of species inappropriate food: boiled cadaver fit for hyena, vulture and a maggot. Not loving human being with conscience. There are no “others”. According to yoga we are all ONE but blind to our oneness thus fragmented and sffering from our ignorance of our infinite nature. One Life Force inhabiting many body containers. Human. Animal. Tree. Why then while there are 300 million yoga practitioners there are only 80 million vegans in the world? How does a yoga practitioner justify her choice to be cruel and order a slaughter of an animal for a 5 minutes culinary pleasure if she has 50,000+ edible plants available that can be turned into delicious vegan stews, burgers, stir fries, schnitzels, soups, quesadillas, sausages, cheese, cakes, pralines etc. Is it tradition? Culture? Habit? Or is it simply the primary mental toxin (klesha): avidya - ignoring one’s true nature which is LOVE. What’s stopping you from being ahimsan (vegan) and harming nobody? #MsRoslonek teaches inner #yoga or a visceral experience of Atman and promoting #mindfulness and #vegan future.

Unleashing the Power of Healthy Creative Living with Shruthi: Nourishing Body, Mind, and Imagination"
Yoga and diet Yoga is a discipline that will incorporates ethical concepts, breathing exercises, and physical activity. Significance of Yoga Diet Prana, or life force energy in the yogic tradition, is believed to come from food. Eating affects our physical, mental, and emotional well-being and spiritual growth. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, legumes, and dairy products are a few examples of sattvic foods. These meals reputedly foster a clear mind, peacefulness, and vitality. Dishes that are tamasic are heavy, monotonous, and challenging to digest, such as meat, fried dishes, and processed or refined foods.

Mitahara: Finding Balance in How We Eat! Let’s face it—our relationship with food can be complicated. We often overeat out of stress or boredom, or grab whatever’s convenient without thinking. That’s where Mitahara, or moderation in diet, comes in. It’s a simple, mindful approach to eating from ancient yoga texts that encourages balance in what, how, and how much we eat. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika says, “A moderate and pure diet is essential for success in yoga. Such moderation brings clarity and focus.” So how do we practice Mitahara in daily life? 1. Focus on quality – Choose fresh, whole foods like fruits, vegetables, and grains to nourish both body and mind. 2. Eat in moderation – Fill half your stomach with food, a quarter with water, and leave some space for digestion. 3. Adapt to your needs – As we age, we need lighter, easily digestible foods, our nutritional requirements change. Listen to your body and adjust accordingly. Learn to be discriminating about what you eat and when, and avoid rigid regimes Mitahara isn’t about strict rules—it’s about eating mindfully to support your health and well-being. Small changes can bring big shifts in how we feel, both physically and mentally. Ready to start your journey toward mindful eating? Begin by making one small change today. What’s one thing you can do to eat more consciously? Let me know in the comments! Let us team up for health. 🤠 This week at Yoga Decoded, we're turning up the cool factor to combat the scorching summer heat! Here are some top tips to keep your body feeling refreshed and prevent dehydration, both on and off the mat: 🧘♂️ Yoga Poses for Cooling Down: 👉 Focus on forward bends: Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold) and Uttanasana (Standing Forward Fold) help calm the mind and promote circulation, lowering internal heat. 👉Incorporate twists: Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose) and Marichyasana (Marichi's Pose) stimulate the digestive organs and can aid in proper hydration. 👉Practice pranayama (breathing exercises): Sheetali Pranayama (Cooling Breath) and Shitali Pranayama (Sitali Breath) involve cooling the breath through the tongue, promoting a refreshing sensation. 🍉 Dietary Coolants: 👉Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Water is key. Opt for cooling fruits and vegetables like watermelon, cucumber, celery, and leafy greens. 👉Favor cooling spices: Mint, coriander (cilantro), and fennel have natural cooling properties. 👉Limit processed foods and alcohol: These can dehydrate you and contribute to internal heat. ✋ Remember: Listen to your body. Take breaks in child's pose (Balasana) or savasana (Corpse Pose) to cool down and avoid overexertion in the heat. Stay tuned for more Yoga Decoded tips!
