The top 3 tips I give to Doctors when they are in the first stages of planning a move to work in Ireland... 1. Be realsitic- with yourself and your recruiter! Whether this is about time lines for making the move or about the position you're expecting, keeping realistic expectations transparent will make things much easier on you both. 2. Do your homework- up and moving your whole life and sometimes your partner, kids, cats and dogs across the world is a big deal! Take some time to learn about Ireland and where might suit you to settle. We provide our "Ultimate Guide" pdf of living and working in Ireland to help our doctors out on this one. 3. Get started with your IMC registration NOW! - The capital letters and exclamation point shows I mean business on this one😅. Registration with the Irish Medical Council can take months and is one of the main reasons we see Doctors postpone their moves. Getting started with the registration ASAP gets you well on your way to making the move a reality!

Chief GP and Primary Care Advisor for ACT Health Directorate; General Practitioner at Interchange Health Co-Operative
More great insights from Dr Tim Senior. How do we move towards funding where deprivation is considered, so we can best help those who need the assistance to keep them well? And how can we measure this?
The latest article on my travels, thanks to the Winston Churchill Trust (Australia), is from Dublin. It's a really rare opportunity to see experienced GPs at work consulting with patients, and I've seen excellent GPs on this trip who have inspired me, and made me proud to be a part of the profession. One GP described herself as "The F***ing Sh**e doctor" - she isn't, but you'll have to read on to find out why... https://lnkd.in/eK-Twgmu

💥 The top tips I give to doctors planning on moving to Ireland ! 💥 1. Do your own research - Most doctors I speak to only know or heard about Dublin and I encourage they do a bit of googling of other areas around Ireland (or look at my posts on locations in Ireland 😝) to get a better idea of locations and hospitals that might suit you! As well as us being a source of information and support, we also have a 'guide to moving to Ireland' which is full of information to help you navigate your move over here. 2. Be realistic and honest - it is important that we have all essential information, expectations and requirements from you so that your journey will be as seamless as possible and to ensure we get you into the job and location most suited to you, your family and four legged friends! 3. IMC (Irish Medical Council Registration) - I can't express enough how important it is to get this started ASAP if you want to come over to Ireland. It is a long process and the sooner you start it the sooner we can get you over here with us and starting your new journey! If you have any questions at all regarding the application or need some help, drop me a message! (It is music to my ears when someone has their IMC started or active 😌 😂) 4. Keep us up to date - If you're working together with us to get moved over to Ireland (which I would highly encourage 😁), it is so important that we are up to date with any new information or any bumps in the road that might come up so that we can manage expectations on both sides and make sure we're on the same boat! Ready to start your journey?🤔 Reach out! Let's get the ball rolling! 📱 Whatsapp: +353860853167 📩 Email: kia.george@matchmedics.com
