The Music Venue Trust Manifesto for Grassroots Music is now in the hands of every prospective MP in the country. We have made sure that every single candidate standing for election knows what they need to do if elected to protect, secure and improve live music in our communities. Now it’s over to you, the people who can vote them in. We have made it as simple as we possibly can for you to write to all the local candidates standing for election in your local constituency, asking them to immediately act in the next parliament to support live music. 1. Open this link: www.whocanivotefor.co.uk 2. Enter your postcode in the search bar: Pick up the tag of any of the candidates who want to be your MP. 3. Create a post on social media: Tag your local candidate, use the hashtag #voteformusic and tag @musicvenuetrust 4. Suggested Message: What is your approach to the @MusicVenueTrust Manifesto for Grassroots Music? Do you pledge to #VoteForMusic if elected?

Thank you shesaid.so for this feature on the work we are doing to make the music industry safer and more inclusive for all. The focus, in particular, is on Black Lives in Music’s “YourSafetyYourSay” survey, which I led on developing with the support of other experts (including Opinium). In this video we speak about why this survey matters, how we developed it and how it will support BLiM and Dr Charisse Beaumont (DMus) in continuing to make a positive impact in the music industry. You can read the full feature here, which also includes a link to the survey: https://lnkd.in/e_jmbeju #DiversityAndInclusion #MusicBusiness #Research #Data

What do football and the music industry have most in common? To me that is the income inequality and disparity, demonstrated through the lack of payment to artists for their Super Bowl performances. Join me for this WTF Wednesday series as we discuss how the entertainment industry is a reflection of society through the intersectionality of football and the music industry during the Super Bowl. I also want to highlight different arguments regarding income inequality as well as provide feedback on those concepts. Plus we will close out by discussing how artists can better negotiate for themselves by looking at negotiation in and out of the industry to consider how the same talking points might be used for advocating for independent artists or businesses... https://lnkd.in/gMmyAGgT
