Hey everybody, Dave Boler here. It has Farmer. Just wanted to give some tips on how to put out a quality resume that's going to attract interviews. So basically, basically I'd like to talk about what is it about a resume that gets me to want to call somebody. And that's exactly why our clients want to talk to you as well too. And so to me, a resume that's really clean, that sizes up the individual quickly so that I can tell I understand what this person's skill set is. I understand what their history is and what they're all about. That's exactly what I'm trying to identify when I look at a resume. If it's too wordy, if it goes beyond 2 pages and it's 3 pages, it's really kind of distracting. So first thing it always recommend, try to keep the resume to one page. Go to two pages only if you have to. I'm OK with that as long as it's an interesting read. The second thing I would say is this resume is your elevator pitch. And I think it's important to maybe have a statement like an executive summary that talks about a paragraph basically of your. Greatest skill set, maybe you excel at doing system implementation, or maybe it's technical gap or leading a team of accounting professionals. That could be your executive summary. And then maybe a few bullet points that maybe talk about things that you've accomplished or things that you've done that you're really good at. The other thing I would say is the content that goes into the summary of the resumes. Make sure you have really good bullet points that are not job description based, but they're more made safe and achieve they're talking about. Commercial projects that you've worked on where you'd be able to make an impact into the business. So that's another thing. Pay attention to what your bullet points are. And also if you have the same bullet point in two different jobs, that kind of looks like you didn't put a lot of effort into really thinking about what your jobs about. So make sure that you don't have repeat bullet points and different jobs. The other thing I really like to see is when somebody basically has a statement about a sentence long that describes the company that they're working at. I call that setting the playing. Build for the organization and really all it is doing is it's talking about this company I worked at, they did this, they manufactured. Widgets, whatever it is, they were a publicly traded company, privately held. You want to basically talk about what the entity set up was, if there are PE backed or private, and then also the size of the company and if you're at the corporate level or the divisional level. That's all good to know. It sets the playing field for the rest of the bullet points that come below that. Hope that helps. Look forward to seeing you out there in the marketplace.

Tip of the Day: Provide Specific Information: When posting about your job search and asking the masses for help, give them something to work with. For example, include details such as the industry you're interested in, the job titles you're targeting, any specific certifications you have, etc. You never know who might see your post and have a relevant opportunity! Use an ATS-Friendly Resume Template: I recommend using templates from resume.com In the past, my resume wasn't passing the ATS. Meaning chunks of my resume were removed. I learned this after paying for a resume review that demonstrated my resume going through an ATS platform.
