Feeling alone, afraid, overwhelmed and isolated is an experience that everyone impacted by acquired brain injury can relate to. At Heads Together, we believe that peer connections are a powerful way to deal with these feelings and experiences. Being with people who "get it" and being with people whose experience is similar but also unique to them can not only provide support but also have the power to shape our perspective. To celebrate Brain Injury Awareness Week, we will share stories from our community of the peer connections they have made and how these connections have impacted their life. We want to represent all the different types of peer connections in our community, between young people living with brain injuries, between young people and siblings, young people and parents and between participants and volunteers. All of these connections contribute to our perspective of our own lives and of the experiences of others, creating deeper understanding, respect and empathy. #ABI #TBI #braininjuryawareness #headstogetherforabi #headstogetherforbraininjury #nonprofit #braininjury #acquiredbraininjury #headinjury #traumaticbraininjury #braininjurysupport #mentalwellbeing #braininjuryadvocacy #inclusivity #LivedExperience #Volunteering #ABIAwareness #ABISurvivor #TBISurvivor #braininjurysurvivor #YouCantBeWhatYouCantSee #UnderstandMeUnderstandMyBrainInjury #YouCantUnderstandWhatYouDontKnow #understandingbraininjury #20yearsHeadsTogether
