Great news 😁! Mat Daniel's excellent podcast, Doctors at Work, is now also a YouTube channel! He is uploading prior episodes, including the one we recorded together a few months ago 😊. It's one of the first podcasts I ever recorded with a physician. A couple of Mat's takeaways from this episode are that he loves the idea that patients can be advocates for doctors' well-being, not just the other way around, and that we all have more power than we think we do! A few of his most recent episode titles include, "How to perform under pressure" with Professor Adam Nicholls, "How to stop catastrophizing" with Harry Glasstone, and "How to succeed as an introvert," featuring one of my favorite doctors, Charity Hix, MD! Be sure to subscribe, and add Mat's channel to your list of favorites, his content is terrific!

Medical Assistants are often the first person a patient encounters at a clinic. So compassion must be a priority. Here’s why 👇: 1. Truly great care is customized. It doesn’t take extra time, it takes presence. 2. One of the best ways to make someone feel heard, seen and held is through active listening. 3. The opposite of compassion is not hate. The opposite of compassion is judgment. In order to give fully compassionate care is through non-judgmental awareness (and this isn’t easy!). Rachel Clifford and Jill Semau joined me on the “Compassion & Courage” podcast recently and we discussed their impact on educating our future MAs. Boy are we in good hands! Tune into the full episode to learn more on #MedicalAssistants and the compassion behind what they do. A huge thank you to all the MAs out there providing #CompassionateCare to patients just like me! #MedicalAssistant #Compassion #Courage #HealthcarePodcast #PatientPerspective #ImHereMovement

Fundamental to fixing the US healthcare system is transformation that supports the safety and wellbeing of all who work in healthcare. That means policies, payment systems, technologies, business structures, leadership, culture, workflows, and education that prioritize team member safety and wellbeing (psychological/emotional safety, health justice, and physical safety) as the foundations of transformation. Small steps lead to big change. What can you change today?
#Gratitude goes to the Dr. Lora Breen Heroes’ Foundation for its relentless effort to bring more awareness to the importance of team member wellbeing. Today, March 18, is now recognized as #HealthWorkforceWellBeing Day! To celebrate this day and support this ongoing work, we are re-sharing the #CaringGreatly podcast episode featuring J. Corey Feist, JD, MBA, co-founder of the Foundation. We hope it will inspire more individuals and organizations to take action and improve care team member safety and wellbeing. https://bit.ly/3IzK6rO #HWWBDay
