𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Before you reach out to a candidate for a phone screen or interview, ensure you've done your due diligence and reviewed their resume thoroughly. Job Applicants - Machine Gunner or Sniper? Increasingly over the last 3 months we have been receiving an extremely high volume of completely inaccurate job applications. We've been experiencing the likes of: ❌ Tradesmen applying for technical roles with no previous technical experience, let alone IT Channel technical experience. ❌ Candidates who are adamant they're aware of what they've applied for, but want twice what the salary is offering! ❌ People from the other end of the country only prepared to work remotely when the job spec clearly states hybrid or working from office 5 days a week. 🤔 Why is this happening? Well, a number of candidates we've consulted have admitted to just firing out as many job applications as possible in the hope that something will stick. The 'Easy Apply' option is also a big factor, encouraging people to make the process less time consuming so they can fire out even more applications! 🙈 This unfortunately is not the best way to get your foot in the door! ❌ Don't be a Machine Gunner ✔ Be a Sniper! 👌 Read the job specs properly, make sure it's a fit! 👌 Tailor you're applications towards the role, accentuate relevant skills! 👌 Follow up your applications with the hiring managers/recruiters! 👌 Think 'quality over quantity'! Yes, by taking this approach it involves more thought and attention but you'll get better traction, you'll have better conversations which may yield other options or opportunities, and all in all it's time better spent! #jobapplications #itchannel #itrecruitment #easyapply
