As we brainstormed ways to amp up your senior care marketing, we came to the realization that the solution was closer than we thought – local community partnerships. We believe these connections are integral to the success of your business, now and into 2024. Collaborating with local businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations can not only boost our visibility but also strengthen trust and build credibility with our audience. Imagine the ripple effect of such partnerships – a local advocate network for our services, our consistent attendance at community events, and a steady stream of referrals. Interesting, isn’t it? Let’s see how this could change our approach in marketing our senior care services. https://lnkd.in/gAZvsn-k #LocalCommunity

The voices of people who draw on care and support are often missing from conferences and events. We're working with Social Care Future to change this, and angela catley would like your help. Drop us a comment if: 🛠 You know of any great tools, resources, or guidance which event or organisers or contributors might benefit from using. ⭐ You know of any accessible event venues with good facilities and staff who work through everything needed to produce inclusive events. And if you have lots of personal experience of contributing to events or conference, click the link for how to get involved https://lnkd.in/ggSiSEwE

"What do you do for community outreach?" 🗣 The answer to this question will give you an idea of how the PT practice thinks about marketing. Marketing, in this case, means how they position their practice in the community. How the clinic attracts new patients. If you read the post on Question #6 - you understand that practices can generate new patients from 5 pathways. On one end of the scale, there's physician referral driven practices. On the other end, there's direct-to-consumer driven practices. If you're looking for stability in your next position, you're looking for diversification of where your new Initial Evals are going to come from. Typically, the more diverse the sources of new patients, the more stable your position. This will show up in community outreach. Most clinics will sponsor 5Ks 🏃♂️ or occupy a booth at a local health fair. That's table stakes. In the PT Code of Ethics, we have a responsibility to educate the public on our services. To do so requires effort. We can do this in many ways: write a book on back pain, participate in health fairs at large employers, speak at lunch 'n learns, work with local organizations and provide screening sessions, host in-house workshops, post helpful videos on social, write blog posts or articles and promote them to our patient lists... The list goes on. For reference, we do all of the above. 90% of our new patient flow comes from direct-to-consumer efforts. Each of our DPT directors host 2 in-house workshops and participate in a community event - each and every month. Many of them are putting an exceptional effort into community outreach - and it shows. Their services are in demand. Their personal schedules are full. And when they bring on a new DPT - the schedule fills quickly. Add this question to your repertoire. Next time, I'll cover Question #8 - "I want to understand a little bit about your business… are you the sole owner, are there partners, is there any other entity involved?"

Every now and then I get a question about my poor attendance of all these amazing EdTech conferences and events. I also am asked to travel places to do in-person facilitation or presentations. These are all well-intended questions and always justified, and I am honoured to receive invitations regardless of how big or small, as I do love engaging with our incredible community. But the thing is, I can't afford the risk. I've been immunocompromised since 2022, which means that even a trip to the grocery store often results in some sort of infection. About 70% of the time I am fighting pain and other symptoms of some variety, which really limits my options when it comes to networking. I've had to pass on pitching opportunities, give up tickets, and cancel last-minute on so many things that it gets a little embarrassing. And it's not going to change, this is a lifelong sentence for me. I am incredibly grateful for virtual conferences, distance work, and online workshops, and though I don't always feel good while participating in these types of events, I really can't grow without them. So, while everyone slowly starts to expect in-person attendance again and offering exclusively co-located events, please keep people like me in mind. Provide an option for us to attend or speak online so we can also feel a part of things and contribute to the community 🫶.

ICYMI: Open invitation to Colorado organizations - 1) find your location using this link, register, and join us, and 2) forward to your respective partners and invite them to join us! Risa Hayes and I are pleased to be bringing (no cost) Colorado Community Capacity Building workshops to you, starting this week! Through the progressive CO Hospital Transformation Program (HTP), CO hospitals are engaging with their wider communities for Community Health Neighborhood Engagement (CHNE). When we all wrap our arms around the hospitals for the health of our respective local family, friends, and neighbors, we are BEST TOGETHER! Why these workshops? To bring as many local community partners together to connect and strategize – even to better understand what services and/or resources each partner can offer that are not well known. We will be facilitating collaborative, strategic brainstorming activities between hospitals, community-based organizations, health alliances, coalitions, regional health connectors, social needs services, and other partners in your community to explore opportunities and approaches to collectively address challenges facing the health of our communities, share best practices, and build community capacity. While the tools and practices we’ll use are an important part of the workshop, the real benefit is in using these tools in collaboration with your partners. NOTE to hospitals: Due to the interactive nature of these workshops that are designed to bring hospital teams and community partners together, participating HTP hospitals can count this workshop as a Community Advisory Meeting for the purposes of Community and Health Neighborhood Engagement (CHNE) reporting for PY3Q3 (April-June 2024). Matt Haynes MPP, MA Kami Tam Sing, MPM, PMP, CPIS We look forward to seeing you there!

Presence matters. Struggling to do this in chaotic healthcare environments? Find other people to do it. I’m part of multiple safe space groups where I can say anything. People I trust and feel belonging around. Every. Single. Day. I would be hashtag #screwed without them. If your current network doesn’t support you or (worse yet) is bringing you down, find your people. Here’s how the best networkers build their safe space groups: https://lnkd.in/gDpD_eAK ✍️ What's your best networking tip? ♻️ Reshare if you found this helpful.
