Access to care is vital for community and individual well being. Beyond just the essential 24/7 Emergency Room, this means having reliable access to all the healthcare a person may need - including mental health services, or pharmacies, or Ob-Gyn and maternal care. Understanding who lacks access to healthcare across all service lines is essential in addressing the health of our nation. And this is why we have launched our Care Deserts Initiative bringing to light those communities that suffer the inequity of insufficient care resources. Our goal is by doing so, we can play a role in bringing the necessary healthcare to those who those who are most vulnerable. The theme for 2024 is Access in Crisis. Join us today to raise awareness and help improve maternal health outcomes. Access to maternal health care has increasingly become unobtainable for many patients in the United States. Ongoing financial, staffing, and policy challenges have forced hospital administrators in both rural and urban areas to shutter their labor and delivery units, causing patients to travel longer distances or go without needed care. Medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death. While this may not be breaking news, it's important to remind ourselves of this fact and ask, what can I do about it? As someone who has worked in healthcare in both Canada and the US, I make it a yearly goal to focus on improving health for myself and my community. This includes caring for our elders and promoting healthy aging. In a world with over 350K healthcare apps in the US alone, it can be overwhelming to determine which ones are effective. For me, it's all about the data. The best solutions place the right information in the right hands at the right time to support our goals and values. It may seem daunting, but with practice, it becomes second nature to identify what truly matters. Let's work together to co-create health for everyone, one mind and community at a time. #healthcare #innovation #healthyaging #communitycare #seniorcare #assistedliving #assistedlivingcommunity #skillednursingfacility

It's Maternal Health Awareness Day! American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)'s theme is "Access in Crisis" and that is right on point in these times. #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay #valuebasedmaternitycare
Wildflower Health joins ACOG and women’s health organizations across the country in observing Maternal Health Awareness Day today, January 23. It’s a day to bring light to the care, many times lack of care, and access options women must knowledgeably navigate to ensure their health is supported at every step. The ACOG theme for Maternal Health Awareness Day, “Access in Crisis,” focuses on how access to maternal health care has become increasingly challenging for many patients in the U.S. Ongoing financial, staffing and policy challenges have resulted in patients needing to travel long distances for care or going without needed care. #MaternalHealthAwarenessDay #maternalhealth #valuebasedcare #valuebasedmaternitycare #maternity #womenshealth #digitalhealth #innovation #maternalhealthoutcomes #healthequity
