🔎 Navigating Shrinking Labor Pools: Tips for Healthcare Managers 🔎 At People Solutions Healthcare Staffing, we’ve learned that adaptability and creative approaches can make all the difference. Here are a few tips for managers facing this challenge: - Refine Your Job Descriptions Focus on essential skills rather than an exhaustive list of requirements. Highlight the growth opportunities, flexibility, and benefits that will make your position stand out in a competitive market. - Consider Transferable Skills When candidate pools are shrinking, looking beyond specific job titles can unlock new possibilities. Consider candidates with transferable skills from other industries or roles who can be trained to meet your specific needs. - Invest in Employee Development Retaining your current team is more important than ever. Offering opportunities for professional growth and development can reduce turnover and make your organization more attractive to new talent. - Partner with a Specialized Staffing Agency Working with a staffing agency that understands the nuances of your department or healthcare facility can help bridge the gap when labor pools shrink. At People Solutions, we focus on finding candidates who align with your specific needs, even in challenging labor markets. - Leverage Technology Utilize digital platforms and telemedicine solutions to extend your reach and create more efficient workflows, which can help alleviate staffing shortages and make the most of the talent you do have. In a changing workforce landscape, flexibility and strategic thinking are key. By focusing on innovative solutions and strong partnerships, managers can continue to build resilient, high-performing teams even in a shrinking labor market. #HealthcareStaffing #LaborMarketSolutions #PeopleSolutions #StaffingStrong #HealthcareManagers

Did you hire well? How do you know? For as long as I can remember, I’ve heard the term “cost per hire.” But what does that actually mean? As the world of healthcare IT creates new niche positions, it’s more important than ever to understand how critical specific individuals are to an organization’s success. When hiring, you’re trying to project not only if someone is qualified for a position, but how successful they can be in a role. This typically translates into an organization measuring how many years of experience they have in that role, which then translates into what they’re willing to do to get a particular person hired. Which is great, I guess, but it’s not a proven metric to predict success. Leaders who are great at hiring have figured out how to determine who will project into a 1X, 5X, or 10X producer. By doing this, they have a potential return in mind that helps them calculate the cost of the hire. Until you’re able to predict the potential return on a new employee, you’re leaving out the biggest variable that, ultimately, should determine your cost per hire. #TalentAccess #HealthcareIT #HRAnalytics #PredictiveHiring

Proactive Engagement: Building relationships with potential candidates long before a position becomes available, creating a community of engaged and interested professionals. The Outcome? Organizations that adopt a strategic approach to talent acquisition in healthcare don't just fill positions; they build robust, dynamic teams capable of navigating the complexities of the healthcare industry. They create environments where innovation thrives, and patient care is paramount. Proper diagnosis is key to preventing this. Next, we prescribe the right talent. By leveraging diverse talent pools, we find candidates who not only meet job requirements but also add value. Companies with diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their competitors. We heal workforce issues like high turnover and low engagement by continuously refining our strategies. Replacing an employee can cost 33% of their annual salary—getting it right the first time is vital. Finally, we believe in preventative care. We build robust talent pipelines and support employer branding, which 72% of recruiting leaders say significantly impacts hiring. So, how do you see recruiters as social doctors in your organization?
