Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay 🌎 Mental health isn’t just a piece of the puzzle; it’s at the core of our well-being, a human right. Yet, over 970 million individuals worldwide struggle with mental health disorders, affecting more than 10% of the global population. In the light of this – and combined with the renewed political efforts in Denmark, we’re proud to raise awareness on this important topic by launching an updated version of our publication on the Danish approach to mental health. In addition to fresh statistics, the updated publication offers two brand new chapters about the latest Danish development in the field, including Denmark’s comprehensive 10-year plan for psychiatry and mental health and the role of public-private partnerships in fostering a healthier society through multi-sector collaboration. I love the building and architectural design- definitely a step in the right direction, however, I believe I t’s important to remember that just because it looks like psychiatry, doesn’t mean it is psychiatric - there are a multitude of causalities that bring inflammation of the brain resulting in putative “mental illness” - we need to change this outdated social construct and recognise what is truly creating the increase of behavioural issues in our globe and admit we’ve been treating the issues incorrectly which is why medications DO NOT work.  April’s story in the Washington post is just one representative story -  “New research suggests that a subset of patients with psychiatric conditions such as schizophrenia may actually have autoimmune disease that attacks the brain”
