Bring your tribe together to create a shared experience. You don’t need to be a hopeless romantic to love traditions. I was never into Halloween, but since moving to Sleepy Hollow, I have become a lover of the holiday. Once a year, the entire town becomes the regional Halloween epicenter, with a month-long celebration featuring ghost stories, haunted houses, and graveyard tours. People from around the country (yes, really) descend on the town to celebrate. The celebration culminates with this parade. I love how this tradition brings people together, and I think about how to use it for inspiration in business. Most organizations have traditions, and it’s powerful to bring people together to celebrate a shared experience. From Thanksgiving dinners and holiday parties to annual picnics and days of service, traditions have the power to remind people what’s special about the tribe they have chosen to join. As you look toward the year ahead, be sure to allocate resources to celebrating together as a team. If you don’t have a tradition, make one up. Actions speak louder than words: How my dad's example in the kitchen shaped our life for better. My dad, a father of two boys, proved this firsthand. In our rural town, it wasn't common for men to help in the kitchen (30 years ago). Yet, Dad, the primary breadwinner, always lent a hand to Mom, even before she became the equal breadwinner. He didn't just talk about kindness; he showed it through his actions. Now, I love cooking, and my daughters enjoy my recipes. As a challenger brand we're firm believers in the power of product sampling. Last week, to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Day, Cameron McKenzie-Wilde and Florence Allen were out spreading the word with free pints of Gosnells Hazy in pubs. It's a simple but effect activity - we're confident in the quality of our product, and our experience shows that when people get a taste, 8 out of 10 choose us again. It's labour intensive (and doesn't scale that easily) but 'liquid to lips' sampling significantly boosts the rate of sale in outlets. It's a testament to the effectiveness of letting the product speak for itself. I'm curious about other strategies that we could employ. Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🐣 In these days when the Easter spirit is spreading, we would like to share a little story with you about how a good staff association (De Skæve Lameller) can create an even better work environment. ✨☺️ Last Wednesday, we decided to add a little extra joy and laughter to our production and administration. One of our brave employees (Anne Rohde Andersen) dressed up as an Easter bunny and went around the entire company with Easter eggs for everyone. 🍫 It was a fun and surprising twist in our daily routine, and it put a smile on all of our faces. Despite the unusual sight of a full-size rabbit in our production, our Easter bunny was welcomed with open arms and lots of laughter. 😂 This small gesture from our staff association not only created an uplifted energy among the employees, but it also showed how a fun and unexpected activity can contribute to a better work environment. It is precisely such moments that bond us together and strengthen our collaboration. 🚀 De Skæve Lameller believes that it is the small, quirky details that make the difference and create unforgettable moments for our employees. 🥰 So let us remember that it doesn't always require big changes to improve our work environment. 🥒 Yesterday, we continued our family tradition of making pickles, something we’ve been doing together since 2015. It’s an afternoon filled with laughter, shared stories, and plenty of good-natured chirping as we stuff the jars. Now that my girls are older, they’ve found their own ways to join in. And by “participate,” I mostly mean convincing their grandfather to take them out for treats! This year, my oldest added her own special touch by creating labels for our jars. These moments are about more than just pickles; they’re about creating memories, traditions, and a legacy of love and connection.
