The ongoing war and the internal displacement throughout Israel led the Be'er Sheva contingency of Eretz-Ir communities and social entrepreneurs to spearhead a set of "Welcoming" events to help those new to Be'er Sheva find their ways around and to feel connected. Especially since so many of them are used to living in a community-focused atmosphere as it is. The first meeting found evacuees from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak and other communities touring the Be'er Sheva market. Hearts and stomachs filled up after this special afternoon together. The second meeting took place at the House of Beer for a tasting and special discussion with owner, Gilad Ne-Eman, about social businesses and social entrepreneurship. And of course, about beer. Moving to a new city, especially during such a complex situation, poses quite a few challenges, and we are here exactly for that - for recommendations, for a pleasant meeting, or even to be a familiar face on the street. These meetings have been graciously supported by the Zionist Council in Israel. Eretz-Ir has been leading local urban communities for almost two decades. In days full of such pain, we believe even more firmly in the power of community and in civil society's ability to support community resilience. Want to see what's so great about our city?
