Since 1976, every American president has designated February as Black History Month and endorses a specific theme. The 2025 Black History Month theme, “African Americans and Labor,” highlights the diverse and significant ways that work shapes the shared experiences of Black communities. Here is a list of resources we’ve compiled to help you get involved: https://bit.ly/4gXmlcF

Evric Davis, Your bosses twice removed my messages of congratulation on this post and have locked me out of posting further for their own self preservation (somewhat understandable). So to Evric... congratulations on landing your dream job and I hope you inspire others who may feel downtrodden 💪 To the social media void... Having heard similar themes from women who are very happy with the Women's Recognition Awards (just one example) it's clear there are genuine issues for society to solve. And, it's only going to get more complex as the lines between man/woman/robot/alien become legally blurred and the wealth equality gaps increases. My comments/posts are only ever meant to bring light to contentious topics from a different perspective, so I hope you and others can see the value in that, even it's not always comfortable. Echo chambers don't help our causes, they create cults, conflict and censorship. It leads to the repression we are fighting to escape from ♻ So for anyone that is not ok with it, please just consider what the world is like if everything is taboo or 'dangerous' to talk about. Look East for that model of society. Do we want that? It's already half way through the door. I have since been cancelled by London & Country Mortgages on this post (I'll add this to my scrapbook 😂) but look forward to other opportunities to explore how corporations, psychology, marketing and culture overlap to shape our perceptions ♻ Have a great day everyone, and remember the only teams in play are the haves and the have nots. The rest is just an expertly crafted distraction. ❤️
As part of Black History Month, we chatted to Protection Expert Evric Davis who joined L&C back in 2021. He’s part of our WeBelong group, which champions an inclusive and diverse workplace and pushes both L&C, and the wider industry, to be better. This year’s theme is ‘Reclaiming narratives’ – encouraging every member of the black community to take part in shaping how their stories are told. It’s about reawakening and elevating voices that have been too often silenced, ensuring that black experiences are seen, heard and valued. We’re so proud that Evric’s part of the L&C team – please take a moment to read his story and thoughts around Black History Month. October is #BlackHistoryMonth. This year's inspiring theme is 'Reclaiming Narratives', an invitation for Black communities across the UK to take part in a collective effort to reshape how Black history is perceived and taught. 'Reclaiming Narratives' marks a significant shift towards recognising and correcting the narratives of Black history and culture, and aims to help ensure that future generations grow up with a richer, more accurate understanding of Black history. Why not get involved in local events, contribute your stories, or simply spread the word by sharing your experiences on social media? Every contribution counts! Find out more at Black History Month UK: https://lnkd.in/exzxTSc Image description: A collection of posters for Black History Month 2024, each featuring influential figures under the theme 'Reclaiming Narratives'. The posters are arranged in a fan-like spread, each one highlighting the contributions and stories of Black leaders and pioneers, with brief biographies and quotes.
