Life is better when you are breaking bad machines. Wealth isn’t a better state of life than ethical existence as a purpose and first priority (as challenging as that is when you struggle… genuinely struggle). I may be the generation of rage against the machine… but the lessons of having early success being adopted into that machine… a surge of and from the wealth machine… and my 20’s … turned that rage into calm resolve. That also taught me to recognize a lot of orgs and people claiming to be about independence were just seeds or early stage co-opting machines. Ted is not that. Ted is a touchstone in my adulthood. One of the people who genuinely strives for the better systems while being successful at the old ones. Ones that I risked everything to climb into in my20’s (that I have spent 20 years, my 30’s and 40’s, choosing my ethics [that capitalism is only good if it is led by empathy every step], working to break… for a better production & distribution system. ) The internet and every other industry should be thinking about the things Ted talks about. imho.
If you don't want to be a Content Slave working in their mines, you need to plan your freedom. I have almost 20 Tenets For True Cinema Independence (as we've only ever had a Dependent Film System). Here's some and more can be found in the original post at: https://lnkd.in/g_bwcDgV

A versatile continuous improvement specialist that facilitates a proactive working environment, lean processes, and exceptional customer service.
In my discussions with organizations that are interested in introducing the FiSH! Philosophy to their coworkers, the effectiveness of a program that has been out for 25 years often comes up. While the practices of #bethere, #play, #maketheirday, & #chooseyourattitude are timeless, the delivery of the program is fluid. Facilitators like myself receive certification from Charthouse Learning and are constantly incorporating newer methodologies to help embed, reinforce, and sustain the practices within the workplace. Following are comments by the creator of #FiSH!Philosophy, John Christensen, that help to underscore this message.
While the FISH! film might be over two decades old, the philosophies within are timeless Learn more about the 4 FISH! practices today at: https://lnkd.in/gRqWpuMB

This is well worth the watch. It's an engaging story of how technically developed the US steelmaking industry has become and just how dependent it is on the highly skilled individuals that make it run well. It may just make you want to work in the minerals and manufacturing industry!
