Formidable and authentic individual, with over 32 years experience in generalist HR. my positive attitude and resilient style paves the way to a desired goal of HR Director. Studying #HRM @DMU. It’s never too late.
In 2018, I attempted to take my life as a result of a breakdown in my mental health. 5 years later and in my own words. Alone I can be strong; but together we can be stronger. #TimeToTalk #powerofwords #standstrong #mentalhealth #standunited #speakup #mhfaengland #powerofkindness #isolation #breakingbarriers #changeyourlife #mindset #bravery #findingstrength #lifelonglearning #mbt NHS England The power of small conversations can lead to powerful strengths in removing the stigma of mental health, racism and discrimination. I owe my understanding of not being a failure to Vince Mayne and Kit Ahweyevu (she/her).

During May, we turn our focus to mental health awareness. This month raises awareness about mental health issues, breaking the stigma, and promoting well-being. For our refugee and immigrant community, especially women and children from war-torn areas, mental health is crucial and needs special attention. This month is an opportunity to foster understanding and support for mental well-being. Let's prioritize self-care, engage in open discussions, and challenge the stigma surrounding mental health issues. Remember: it's okay to be gentle with yourself, especially when mental illness makes everyday tasks feel overwhelming. Be kind, take breaks, and prioritize your well-being. #MentalHealthMonth #SupportRefugees #HopeAndHealing #NewHaven #Health

How to start advocating for our 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡'𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡? First, we need to 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 and 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. Let's show them that 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 and 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 from a young age. Let's set an example by caring for ourselves, more than just telling them (but both are important.) 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐲, 𝐯𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 are some of the best tenets that we can share with them so that not only do we advocate for them, but they know how to advocate for themselves as they learn and grow into adulthood. A mental health crisis has gripped our youth over the past few years, partly due to the increase in awareness of society. that younger generations have today. They are dealing with and processing so much generational trauma and trying to find their way in a world that hasn't been easy. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨, given a voice, and given better standards than we have previously expected. They need us to speak up, but they also need us to shut up and listen. https://lnkd.in/efEPjP7x #MentalHealth #YouthMentalHealth #MentalHealthAdvocacy #YouthAdvocacy
