They are the most popular ones at camp, and you’ll rarely find them not being loved on by the kids, vets, moms, or staff. All that cuddling and petting is exhausting, but our pets love what they do. Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, or any other type of pet, Love Your Pet Day is a great opportunity to pamper them with treats, toys, cuddles, and extra attention. Here are some ways you can celebrate Love Your Pet Day: 1. Treat your pet to their favorite snacks or special treats. 2. Spend quality time playing with them or engaging in activities they enjoy. 3. Take them for a walk or to their favorite outdoor spot. 4. Give them a relaxing grooming session, such as brushing their fur or trimming their nails. 5. According to multiple sources, pet owners consider their dogs and cats as part of their family. Many pet owners even love their pets as if they are their children. This leads them to wonder, "What if something happens to me? What will happen to my fur babies?" This question weighs heavily on passionate pet people and they need an answer. Most attorneys and estate planners recommend designating a person in your Last Will and Testament to take care of your pets after you die, but what happens if you can't care for your pet while you are alive? Our nonprofit organization educates people about the best way to plan for their pet's future. We teach people about Pet Trusts. These legal documents provide guidelines for the rehoming of your pet and the funds to carry out that care. In contrast to leaving money for Pet Care in your Will, a Pet Trust helps ensure your pet is cared for the way you prefer with the funds you provide for that care. All 50 states have Pet Trust laws but there is minimal information available to support attorneys and pet owners who want to prepare a Trust. That is, until now. Our organization has developed the 6 Essential Components of a well-designed and comprehensive Pet Trust. We have created a process that uses the pet owner's answers to a wide range of questions to prepare a Pet Care Plan that can be used as an attachment to a Pet Trust. This enables the attorneys to focus on the Trust Language and leaves the Pet Care to us. Join our community of passionate pet people to learn more.
