Section 5 of the AFSS & Part D What happens when there's an issue with Access and Egress provisions of BCA Part D? Would it affect the endorsement of Section 5? From my understanding, Section 5 is related to part 15 of the EPA (DCFS) Regs 2021 and is solely focused on keeping paths of travel to exits and exit areas clear and unobstructed only. While BCA Part D deviations to the DTS provisions may be concerning, they would not relate to Section 5. So, if the paths of travel to an exit are 50m and exceed the maximum travel distances of D2D5, this would not impact the endorsement of Section 5? What about if there is non-compliant hardware installed on a required exit door in contravention with D3D26? Would this be considered an "obstruction" as per the EPA Regs? Could this fall under Cl 109 3(b)? What are your thoughts on this? Let's start a discussion and share our knowledge.
