Exciting News in the Chemical Industry! 🌐🚀 One of the leading global chemical companies is building a new #MDI plant, and Alfa Laval has been the crucial partner. MDI is the most important building block for #polyurethane, a widely used polymer for isolation. It is produced in a batch process requiring the reactor heat exchanger to both work as a product #heater and #cooler. A gasket plate heat exchanger is ideally suited for such cyclic operation as the flexible gaskets will absorb the impact of the frequent changes in duty. For this specific project, our innovative #TS45 emerged as the perfect solution. However, it presented a unique challenge as it wasn't initially available with normal stainless plates, instead plates in alloy C276 material are required because of the corrosiveness of the product. Through seamless #collaboration across R&D, operations, product management, sourcing, and sales, our team conducted all necessary tests to qualify the material, and delivered the TS45 units with alloy C276 plates in time to the customer.
